Love the video we go to bacon bay a lot to fish. Just bought 2 Old Town topwater kayaks to start kayak fishing. Hope to see you out there.

Beautiful trout. I like your Fishing Log at the end of the video.

Thank you. If we release the breeding fish we will see more like them in the future. I’ve kept a log like that for years, definitely helps me when I haven’t gone fishing in a while I can look back in on similar time of year / conditions to better guide where and when I fish.

I certainly support the release of all trout over 20". Since the big freeze back in 2021 and the last freeze in December 2022, I haven't kept but a handful of trout, never more than two fish on any single trip. We need to keep the breeding stock going. I wish TPWD would keep the 3 fish limit in effect for another couple of years. @@DanielGuillette

@omcbob37 totally agree. These days if I keep a fish, it’s redfish or black drum.

I have never used a Corky but always wanted to learn how to use one. Great videos!
@DanielGuillette2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Corkies work great all year, but In the winter they do very well as they sink slower in cool water. Slowly reeling and and a few twitches while reeling like walking the dog for a topwater does the trick. Some of my other videos you can see I may throw in a burst of fast reeling to make the fish bite / reaction strike.

@Wolf's Fishing Thanks man! Took a few days of watching weather to plan this one out. It's not close to any boat launch by any means and if weather kicks up its a long wet ride home. This trip, fish, to me was wonderful gift from above as everything came together at once!

What kind of old school rod are you using?
@DanielGuillette2 жыл бұрын
I thought no one would notice... its an old Daiwa medium light, moderate action 6'6" rod. Real whippy. I actually was going to use my Waterloo Phantom medium light 6'6" but I accidentally broke the end of the rod off that morning.
@jdfcca2 жыл бұрын
@@DanielGuillette If you are in the market for a new rod, upgrade to the 6'6" Waterloo Ultra Mag.
@DanielGuillette2 жыл бұрын
@@jdfcca that’s what I’m thinking of getting. I like Waterloo, that phantom is good for the price but I haven’t tried that Ultra mag yet.
