Great tips! One of my favorite education philosophical quotes “the obvious must be stated” rings here and the closing bail comment is something I learned

More Wader Dave please. Hey Luke side note, since your video tying the FG knot using your pinky I regularly retie (if needed) while wading. I've found it to be very easy to tie using that method while the rod is in my belt holder.

Another solid video - thanks! Do you have any recommendations for waders? Brands? Boot foot vs Stocking foot? Where to buy them? Thanks!

A sure way to avoid line twist or wind knots, the bane of spinning reel fishermen, is to close the bail manually instead of cranking the reel handle. I've known this for years. Now I learn that I should do this before the lure hits the water. Great tip. I will do this the next time I go fishing.

The comment on coated braid may save me; my FG knots slip and fail. I am new to the FG and have lost confidence and had to go back to a double uni which never fails.

Finish your with a smaller fg go five wraps under then tie two more half hitches and burn you braid

Those wax coated lines can put knots at risk of slippage.

Some good basic tips and tricks. Not sure its a "how-to". Would like to know how you picked the spot. Wader Dave said "right where we thought they would be"... That conversation is the "How-to" I would like to see.

How does Wader Dave attach the rod holder tube to his pack’s sling strap and what kind of tube is he using? I’ve made several prototypes of that exact setup for my sling pack but haven’t designed one yet that I truly like. Thanks

I’m looking to buy my first set of waders I’m near Galveston what type should I be buying one of my cousins said don’t get for cold weather but there are so many options and I haven’t found anybody talking about it thanks love the tips

Most importantly I’d suggest you buy stocking foot, chest waders versus boot in waders, whether you are buying neoprene or breathable waders. I wear the same booties over the stocking feet, just a couple sizes larger, that I use when wet wading. Boot in waders are much heavier and make it very difficult to wade through soft/muddy bottom areas. They also tend to be very uncomfortable if you’re walking any sort of distance to get to or from a spot you are planning to wade or if you’re covering a long distance while wading. Second, I’d suggest uninsulated, breathable waders over neoprene waders, as they can be worn all year long. You will just need to adjust the clothing you wear underneath your waders as the water temperature changes - more clothing as the water temps drop. I’m hesitant to recommend a brand as there are so many available over a huge range in price but I’ve been very pleased with a pair of Compass 360 Deadfall Breathable Chest Waders I purchased on Amazon for $120. I’ve only been using them for less than one full season so I’m not sure how durable they are.

The cold water can make it very tough to find some fish willing to eat.

Ya, but there literally wasn’t one tip on fishing after a cold front. Those tips were for fishing anytime and that was just on gear. I’m an avid fisherman. I was hoping for tips on wind direction, water depth, grass vs mangroves, in coming vs out going tides after cold fronts. Maybe I’ll get that next time
