But the slope for the mechanic alternative that you did is 1.875 and not 0.1875 because it is 15/8

Sir it says the pivot was placed 20 cm *from* the centre of gravity. That means that the distance between the centre of gravity and the pivot is 20cm and due to the centre of gravity being at the 50cm mark, that means that the pivot was placed at 50-20= 30cm mark

Thank you for the awesome lesson. Really enjoy your videos because you make them easy to understand. I have a question concerning the “real values” for L: I was thinking it should be the L(con) values, being that L(con) values are what would’ve been recorded on the meter rule in the lab. Because I observed that the Li values were obtained from the question paper and each cm represents 5cm in real scale. Please help me clarify this. Thank you.

Thanks, @Jordan Ugoeke for your critical observations. This shows you are sound in Physics. I had to re-watch the video to verify if that was an error from me. Fortunately, it is not. The instructions said, plot a graph with real values of L, not L(convert). One thing I will like you to know in physics practical is this-"you follow STRICTLY the instructions given to you, even if you already know it". I hope this answers your question. Thanks.

You didn't use the value you recorded on d, horizontal.even while reading the slope, you are reading what you didn't record as each unit value.

The correct scale sir is 4cm to 10 units And 4cm to 2unit
@PhysicsWithBen
@PhysicsWithBen Жыл бұрын
Good day, thanks for your opinions. But I think we don't have a fixed scale for a particular graph. There is always more than one correct scale for every Physics graph, and you are at liberty to choose the one that works best for you. If 4cm to 10 units/2 units works best for you, that is cool. As a Physicist, I expected you to say, Sir, you can also use 4cm to 10 units and 4cm to 2 units. Thanks for finding my videos worthy of watching. God bless you.

Good day, you did not speak out of foolishness but with great sense. The only challenge I had about your comment was that you it did not give room for other scales and units of the graph. I welcome corrections because they help me grow. God bless you.

Hello 👋, In every experiment, there is what we call THE TREND OF THE EXPERIMENT ( i. e the mathematical relationship the variables or the parameters in the experiment share with each other). If you perform a physics experiment ( e.g the simple pendulum experiment) you will find out that among these variables ( length of the thread 🧵, l, time of oscillation,t, period of oscillation, T, etc), the length, l, of the thread and the period, T, of the oscillation has an INCREASE -INCREASE OR DECREASE-DECREASE RELATIONSHIP(trend). Meaning that, as the values of the independent variable, l, are increasing down the table, the values of the dependent variable, T, will also be increasing down the table and vice versa. Prediction:👇 As a result of the above, if you are asked to plot a graph 📉 of l vs T or T vs l, you must have any of these three possible positive straight-line graphs. 1. A graph sloping upward from left to right with an intercept on the positive y-axis. y = mx + c 2. A graph sloping upward from the origin to the right with NO intercept. y = mx 3. A graph sloping from down upward with an intercept on the negative y-axis and positive x-axis. y = mx + or - c. I have explained this in all my experimental videos. Check out for increase - decrease or decrease - increase trends. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you.
