Listen Russell (lmao!), I really don't think "Kayak Nation" is ready for the Bonafide, soooo revolutionary! How in the world did they get a pontoon style hull to track so well.... the balance is crazy, the layout is sick, "Fishability" really epitomizes this kayak. I just bought one, getting it rigged-out, I did have flush mount rod holders installed to go with blackpak.

+Dale Fogle also... going from rod lockers and gear storage to small boats is brutal! I sold my boat and now have 2 aluminum and 2 yaks. Realizing how much you have to leave at home is crazy!!! This yak carries way more than my current yak does however.

Leaning toward this boat over a Jackson cuda hd...no review I have read or video posted shows this boat being fished in salt water. Do you think this boat will perform well inshore and flats fishing? All bonafide kayak videos shows bass fishing...
@WAEofFishing7 жыл бұрын
+Bobby Morales heck yeah! In the video I share my thoughts on sight fishing reds. It is quiet! And didn't need much attitude correction in the wind. Idk about large rollers in a channel though. Shallow inshore would be banging! I'll send your question to Luther or one of the guys at bonafide.
@bobbymorales2937 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, looking forward to getting this boat and on the water! I wouldn't be offshore fishing this thing. All the videos I've watched with this boat on the water has been in freshwater and bass fishing. Thanks for the review!

This is an exciting kayak and I'm in the market for one. Besides fishing I would also need to use it for kayak camping and exploring. How is the speed and tracking ?Nobody seems to be talking about it. I have a very hard time keeping up with others on river trips with my current fishing kayak.
@WAEofFishing6 жыл бұрын
The tracking uggs phenomenal. We discuss it in one of the vids bc it's amazing without a rudder! Minimal movement even in wind. Covering distance, the speed is on par with other boats. ~4mi/ hr.

Great review..........but you guys missed 2 awesome features ( every feature is awesome on the Bonafide of course ) with one being that no matter where or how much water may splash into the boat, it drains INSTANTLY, including the rear cargo area, where you'll notice that the whole floor of the rear cargo area is angled towards those 2 drain scuppers. There isn't a single place in this kayak for any water to pool up, and it actually drains faster than you could pour water IN to it. The other missed feature is the fact you can actually turn the Black Pack SIDEWAYS, and it still fits & straps in properly, allowing even MORE room for a cooler, or bait-well, other gear or boxes, etc. I don't care what anybody says.......to each his own, but IMHO, I would rather own this Bonafide kayak versus a Hobie or Native costing more than TWICE as much. But the Bonafide does need a good rudder for fishing in high wind. At least it's "rudder ready".
@WAEofFishing6 жыл бұрын
I didn't even know that!! and I know like all the Bonafide team members! Frigging sweet!! I'm going to make sure they show you some love on the socials!!!!
@howabouthetruth21576 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. Many reviews of the Bonafide shows how the Black Pack can sit sideways. But as far as instant water drainage, I've only found 2 reviews that point that out. You can literally use a large glass/cup to pour water inside the Bonafide, and it will drain faster than you can keep pouring water in. That's everywhere inside the boat, but most impressive towards the rear storage area, because it sits the lowest usually. As far as "love on the socials"........just don't tell anyone I'm a proud owner of a Twin Troller X-10...lol. I bought my Twin Troller in October of 2016........man, WHAT A BOAT. I fish it hard every week, year round here in central Florida, targeting trophy bass. This boat is NO "gimmick". The only 2 things ya can't do with a Twin Troller is drag/carry it, or throw it on the roof of a car, because it weighs 175 lbs. But 1 man can easily manage it out of a pickup truck or large SUV using the custom cart made for it. But I trailer mine. It costs LESS than a Hobie Pro Angler, and already comes standard with twin salt water grade MotorGuide trolling motor heads hidden & protected up inside the pontoons & the twin foot-control pedals & 2 seats that swivel 360 degrees. The electrics have 72 lbs of thrust. That's a lot for a 175 lb boat. Battery lasts all day. 10 feet long by 48" wide. I put a 3.5 hp Tohatsu 4-stroke on the transom, to go long distances faster. 2 anglers can sit or stand, and the boat is impossible to capsize, no kidding. With the electrics, you can spin 360 degrees on axis, go straight backwards, turn on a dime, and hold perfect position in wind & current using only your twin foot pedals. It operates in only 7 inches of water, and the electrics can go through lily pad fields & thick Kissimmee grass like a knife through hot butter. SWEET BOAT. High quality & built to last too. The seat height is like sitting in a computer chair, and incredibly comfortable. I carry along 8 baitcaster set-ups in the 2 deep side trays & plenty of tackle & gear in the floor, completely out of the way. I have nothing against kayaks, and I absolutely love the Bonafide SS127. I just wish so many of the kayakers would stop hating on the Twin Troller, simply because it is a cheaper alternative than a $3500+ Hobie, and out-performs it. It's no different than "hating all other boats" and it just ain't right. I get along just fine with all the local kayakers in my area, and they absolutely dig my Twin Troller X-10. Check it out. Would I love to own a Bonafide SS127 also??? You bet I would. All great boat designs have their pro's & con's. Tight lines.

The 12 and the 10 paddle great! I have footage of Sean going up Rapids on the james in the 10. No more effort than my moonen 12. Longer is faster though with all kayaks. Are you on IG? I am friends with most of the bonafide team in VA. Look up Sean Amiss (he's in that video) he can answer ALL your questions. I paddled the 12 in wind. If i had the money, I'd already have one!!

Honestly, how is the tracking of this thing? I see people complaining and am having second thoughts
@WAEofFishing4 жыл бұрын
Tracks fine. It does need a rudder, most kayaks need a rudder once the wind starts up. There are also Flex Wings you can install that help a lot.
@coreywarner1684 жыл бұрын
@@WAEofFishing I meant more of the back end spinning after paddling than the while paddling tracking. So the flex wings fix it? And should you use a rudder and the flex wings??
@WAEofFishing4 жыл бұрын
I have flex wings on mine and I'm still buying the rudder for that reason! Honestly, I would just run the rudder if I had to choose
