Penn and Teller are VETERAN magicians/illusionists - to fool them twice, is quite a feat, and to receive accolades from audiences and magic peers alike - just tells you, that Shin is something special in terms of skill and performance/delivery. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Lim#Awards Shin Lim brings back the "old school" mysticism and amazement to his close up "magic". This was my first exposure to him too, and still my favorite. As someone who fiddled with illusions from elementary school up until I no longer needed them to get the attention of women, I was dumbstruck at the same place you were: the card behind his back. Even with the moves I can figure out a method for, I'm blown away that he can pull them off. Current theory: his ultimate trick is being so good that we never suspect his Hairstyle is somehow the real secret to it all. Eric has his Ribbon, Shin has his Hair, all the rest of us have gotten used to finding out that no matter what we do, there's an Asian somewhere who does it better.
