Waffles House sustained me while I was in school studying electronics and working full-time. Waffle House, like McDonalds, is an American Icon that travelers look for while driving long distances. Waffle Houses are a welcomed sight knowing they never close; this is a blessing to the weary traveler and their food is always visible while being prepared so the diner knows what he's getting (no filth from the cooks).

Waffle House has maintained it's food quality, while McD's has devolved into serving imitation meat, flour-paste sold as potatoes (french-fries), reconstituted egg whites, whipped, frozen & sold as "ice cream" though they carefully never call their glop "ice cream." Nice video. But as a Security Officer who has worked major holidays for too many years to remember, I hate silly corporate gestures such as the one noted above. The cooks and staff have to work, so to make it fair; the executives do too. What's the point of that? Doesn't show the cooks and staff any real respect or consideration. Pay them double for working shifts on major holidays, and let the executives go home and enjoy their day off. That way, everyone ends up happy.
