2/18/1979,to be exact.A Month shy before the Station turned 30 years old.

Not only was the AMC Spirit wider, longer and similar in price, it could be specified with an AMC 6cyl with a Torqueflite trans - it was basically a Gen II Gremlin, which was basically a SWB Hornet - possibly the best compact car of the decade. The 6cyl Spirit would SMOKE that Chevette and do it in style!

Wow thanks so much for sharing! Would love to see the TV5 Newsbreak or part of the WAGA-TV 11pm News from that night if you might have it on this tape! I'm from Atlanta, GA and love looking back at old Atlanta TV from the 1970's! :-)

Yw! The newsbreak isn't included on the tape sadly but I do have one from 1983

@@radioman1968 Should've mentioned it's a newscast from WXIA-TV. Also have another one from WXIA-TV in 1982. It's partial though. Will upload those soon.
