Wagakki Band "Senbonzakura" - FIRST TIME REACTION

Hey KillerMcKnight, 'Bring me to Life' was played right before 'Senbonzakura', that's why Amy Lee appeared short again. This concert was Premium Symphonic Night 2, hence the orchestra and their gentle outfits, in Feb. 2020 right before Covid pandamic started. Later that year they released a Single together called 'Sakura Rising' with a beautiful animated Musicvideo, which fitted the Covid times. Subscribed 👍 Keep WGB coming.

Man oh man. Awesome reaction good sir. 🙏🏼 Thank YOU for introducing me to a kick ass band I hadn’t heard of, that I can share with my sons that are both learning Japanese! So I typically find reactions (or the algorithmic overlords bestow upon me) by the bands and songs I already know & ❤or that i just recently discovered (like Ren). Hey papacarl, sorry this is such a late response! For some reasons our comments aren't showing up for us in our KZbin Studio app so here I am on my computer to catch up! I think that is awesome that you've found our channel as an avenue to find new music! I started doing KZbin/ music reactions because I found myself listening to the same music for years. For the most part that is fine but there is so much culture and good music in the world, that it is such a wonderful thing to experience when you branch out! I agree with you, their videos are pretty good with very high production values etc, but I always prefer their live performances, it's always such a mesmerizing show and they have such good chemistry both between themselves as well as the audience. Believe me, you have many more treats in store.

There are some folk rock/metal bands which using traditional/folk instruments, not only in Asia. I want to recommend ukrainian folk/pagan metal band Свентояр (Sventoyar) and their cover of Limp Bizkit's song "Boiler", melody is from that song, but lyrics are from folk song "Крашен Вечiр" (Krashen Vechir) and it's title of this cover. They have more slavic folk sound, also their singer's vocal is more like from slavic folk music, and they have slavic folk instrument called cymbaly. I do not know why so many reactors start with this version with Amy Lee. She was a great singer once upon a time, but here she is in over her head, and the band had to hold back to avoid embarrassing her. There are 3-4 versions of "Senbonzakura" up on youtube which are better than this.

Agree with you that there are more and better versions of Senbozakura on YT. The best version is in my opinion from Daishinnenkai 2019, That version is blocked by Avex, but there is a montage video with sound from the 2019 concert. It was not a given that Amy came on stage during this song. They agreed that if she dared she could come on stage for the last verse if she wanted. She learned the last verse of this song just before the concert. It was Amy's first time singing in Japanese, and that it was on the fly and for fun without practice, she did well. The song before this was Amy's song "Bring me to life" The song she came to perform. I have seen the concert and she was only on those two songs. And I don't think they held anything back.

@Hiawatha G. I can only speak for myself but the reason why I chose this particular video is due to the recommendations in the comment section of the last video I did. For me essentially, if a link for a video drops in the comments multiple times and those comments get a lot of likes then I chose to go with that video in hopes when I release it those people will return to the channel to watch the video. It's my attempt at listening to my audiences suggestions. I also don't doubt that there is better versions of this song on KZbin but I wouldn't know so I trust in my communities recommendations!
