Wagner Flexio 3000 Paint Spray Review and Test

I've been using this tool for a while now, so here is a review. I also show you how it works on some wooden chairs I'm refurbishing. Feel to ask me questions on this product.

This leaves such a smooth finish on my furniture flips. And it cut my paint time by 3 times. Love it!

I was about to buy a LVLP spray gun that I wasn't even sure would work well on my small hotdog-style 1 gallon compressor. Total for everything I needed would have been the same as this sprayer. I'm just looking for something I can spray lacquer with, and this thing seems pretty amazing. Haven't found a bad review for it yet. Haven't seen a video of anyone spraying clear finishes with it, but the Wagner website says you can, so I think I'll give it a shot.

I am thinking of getting this because I'm 1 person that needs to paint a long wall but I'm not sure if this is the option for me. My major concern is mixing the paint. I assume you can take regular paint and dilute it with thinners to make it work in the machine

Mixing the paint is really simple. Most paints are water based which means that you just add a little water. I haven't had much of a problem with most paints. You should be fine.

Spend the extra money for a Graco 360 handheld they are a way better machine

aah, another 'garbage' collector. We call it 'road kill', and we've picked up awesome furniture thrown out before that just needed a little TLC to be good as new. Our favorite is old, quality, real wood things that people throw out and replace with cheap chinese junk. I'll pick that up any day. I bought the flexio 3500 yesterday and painted my ceiling, and that's why I'm here today looking at 'how to' videos... if you know what I mean...lol

You can find some amazing, well built pieces, if you keep your eyes open. Garage sales, Goodwill, Craigslist, etc..., are all good places. As someone who is against our "throw away" culture, I get excited when I can give a piece new life. Any differences between the 3000 and the 3500 that you have noticed yet?

@@EverythingHouse I think the biggest thing is the 'on' switch on the 3500. The turbine is not activated by the trigger; you turn it on with a switch on the side, and it stays on regardless of trigger pull. They you have a dial on top for velocity adjustments. Works great. The rest is pretty much exactly the same.

If you want a paint cooker, get a Wagner Flexio. If you want a paint sprayer, look elsewhere. I've been battling this gun (using the detail head) for the past three years and the day I get to put it in the rubbish will be a happy day. The air coming through the turbine heats up the head - probably because the air passes right over the motor coil! - and literally cooks the paint so that it clogs within minutes. If you're lucky, you just need to remove solid paint build up around the front needle valve. But sometimes you have to take the paint needle valve completely apart and pull out the solidified paint around the venturi port seal. Using solvent paints will shrink the two main seals and the gun will leak paint everywhere. I now know every square inch and part of this gun intimately, unfortunately, and it is just terribly designed. I spend most of my time painting with this gun trying to get it work reliably. Today, I was trying to prime two sides of a door and a job that should've taken an hour ended up taking three. It's just rubbish.

There's definitely a technique to using this tool. Thinning the paint really helps.
