I bought a Graco Truecoat 360 and it isn't bad. I will say your video explaining why you thin the paint by adding 20% water fixed some inconsistencies I had with my sprayer. Graco says you don't need to thin the paint when using this sprayer but you do. Made a huge difference. Thanks!

Up until today didn’t think I had it in me to tackle spraying my kitchen. Want the best finish possible but this Wagner setup seems much more doable then a hlvp setup that cost an arm and a leg.

Great videos with amazing tips and easy to follow instructions. Very informative and entertaining. Bought a Fuji Semi Pro 2 and ended up with an awesome glass smooth finish using your method. Couldn’t have been more satisfied. Saved a boatload too. I just wish I would have gone with BenMoore Advance. Was kinda worried about that long dry time so I went with the Coronado door, trim, and cabinet enamel waterborne acrylic alkyd. It’s owned by BenMoore. Levels, brushes, rolls, and sprays amazingly good. Just looks kinda dull and lifeless in the satin I picked. “Decorators White” and “Blue Danube” I love your positive energy Ryan. Great videos. Seen many of them multiple times.

Hi. Thank you for your information How long do you wait to flip cabinets doors over to spray the back? And I’m curious about leaving the drawers on while spraying in terms of the face frame that’s behind the drawer front. Thanks :)

I try to wait overnight to flip, but at least 4 hours usually. With the drawers, painting that small amount of face frame behind them is un-noticable and looks just fine.

I did exactly what you warned about--didn't clean the air vent adequately after first use, then let it sit for a few days. I can't get air through the little hole on the underside of the valve seat, so I let denatured alcohol sit in the valve seat to hopefully loosen the clog. The hole in the valve seat is in the middle but the drain hole underneath is to the side, so I can't get a wire through it. Any advice?

I started my diy bathroom cabinet with 3500 wagner somehow it turned out amazing and smooth considering 8:32 it was my 1st time using a gun, then decided to get this one instead and it was a disaster doing the small cabinet doors! Orange peel and globs 🤦🏻‍♀️

That's frustrating! Sorry you're having issues. If you're having globs and orange peel, I would first make sure that the paint has been properly thinned, I go for 20%. I just did a video about this here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jH2Ue3WmmKageNk Second, make sure your air flow is at 100% and last dial back your fluid knob so that less fluid comes out. If you do all of this, you should be able to get nice atomization and a smooth looking finish. Good luck!

Hi I’ve been using the Flexio 3500. Using PPG breakthrough and I have been getting little bubbles every time I paint a cabinet door. I thinned paint to 15% because ppg only recommends 10% so I didn’t want to go too thin. My power settings are all the way up and the amount of paint coming out is slightly above the lowest setting. I make sure I’m not putting on the paint heavy and it still hasn’t seemed to help. Thank you for all your videos.

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble. The Flexio is on the low end for power, which is why thinning to 20% is necessary. As a test, I would thin a bit more to 20% and see how that works.

Spraying Kilz as a primer because my topcoat is a primer and topcoat in one and that'll go on next. Followed the advice here about atomization and the second attempt on a different section looks WAY better. Curious though on the first area where it's a little blotchy should I have that completely dry and sand it? Or throw another layer of kilz on then sand? Thx!

I'd sand the blotchy areas, then go back and spray another coat of primer over that and sand before top coating.

Hey just wondering if you could tell me about your thoughts on polyurethane paint finish compare to this water based finish .I've heard the polyurethane finish with a hardener is a more durable and a smoother finish and would this sprayer handle that paint ?

Was curious if in your masking career you ever used paintable clear film for the glass and windows and what was the experience? After a paint job supposedly scrapes off easily. Thanks for the subscribe! I've never used paintable clear film. My thoughts are that applying it perfectly would be harder than using the standard method of tape and plastic. I also think it might end up being a quite a bit more expensive. If you ever try it, let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching!

If you use a water based finish, they will float everywhere, but it will likely be dry dust by the time it lands. Always a good ideas to mask everything and contain all the dust though. On a humid day, the dust can still be wet and stick to anything it lands on.

Absolutely. Cleaning your sprayer at the end of every day is always a good idea. I usually bring the spray gun home and wash it out in my laundry tub.

@@indieOttawaI would do it this way. Rinse out the paint cup,add warm water and a couple drops dish detergent and spray it thru the gun. Then disassemble and clean. Do this with my airbrushes.

I bought the 5000 and sprayed some cabinet doors dark grey using Behr Alkyd (purchased before watching your videos) thinned 20%. I have visible spray lines in some lights. What would cause that?

Could be handful of things. Too light of coats and not enough overlap would be my guess. I’d recommend spraying the doors flat and have at least a 50% overlap as you spray. When you spray flat, you can put on a much thicker coat without any runs.

Really enjoying your videos. I have a question, if money wasn’t an option, and being a diy’r, would you suggest the Graco x5 over this product. I will be painting cabinets, doors, garages, walls, and furniture, and even outdoor house posts beside the landing area of the front house.. as I hear and noticed even in your vid today, a lot of overspray was seen while you were painting the room… thoughts. Thx

If you were just doing cabinets, then no, I wouldn't recommend the X5 over the Flexio 5000. BUT since you plan on doing all those other things, I think airless sprayers like the X5 are more versatile and will be better for all those projects. Just make sure to get comfortable spraying with it before doing your cabinets and I'd recommend a small tip size like a 311 to help control your spray and avoid runs.

Using this sprayer on your recommendation! It's been good - a bit of learning. I have just finished half of the cabinets with prime coat. I have a question, do you ever do a second coat of primer if you messed a door up or ended up miss praying. I mean you probably wouldn't because you are a pro but if that happens, is it ok to wait for promer to dry, then sand and respray? Thank you!

Absolutely. Nothing wrong with spraying an extra coat of primer. Easier to fix something during primer than later during topcoat.
