Toujours une direction souple, ample, rythmée à la fois, parfaite en un mot. On a vraiment hâte de la voir et l'écouter plus souvent.

Fell in love with this work in my mid teens when I received an LP of Wagner selections. It hypnotized me and I seemed to understand it almost immediately. There are so many emotions wrapped into it. I can see why Cosima treasured it wanted it just for herself.

Love strongly this piece. Always listening Leif Motif in his operas it is very special to hear a sweet and tender melody as this one in Siegfried idyll. Lovely!!

Einfach wunderbar!

Always good to see more female conductors!!!

Gabriel, why? Don’t see what sex has to do with musical talent, except perhaps singers who are born with much of their voice qualities. When I listen to good music, I seldom if ever care whether performance is male or female, or if, as expected, the horns and percussion are dominated by males, and harpist or violin section seems more female. Conductor? Who cares? It’s time we get off the me too thing except if there’s clear harassment or discrimination evident. Good grief let’s enjoy the artists and the work, and set aside the sexual politics. Oh, does the fact that few women and black composers shine in the bask of classical music history make this line of work obsolete? Shall we ban music now due to its checkered history and maltreatment of the fairer sex and minorities?

Especially conducting Wagner... It's like Heaven, really.

@@frankreedy6437 True, but Canellakis is a very good conductor, so is Lyniv. I'm happy that I get to enjoy their work. Some female conductors are sloppy, like Marin Alsop, but others are very good.

Beautiful composition, directed by a female conductor in this case. Classical music is a big tent and there’s room for everyone. It unites us, not divides us.

A wonderful performance with plenty of nuance, and beautiful arches. I am impressed with this conductor's Wagner with the Paris Orchestra as well. I only wish the Stockholm Philharmonic recorded their Walkure Act I last year, and made available for viewing.

As a Wagnerian, who has heard this composition performed by countless orchestras under the baton of the greatest of the world's conductors, I must say this conductor's interpretation is the most satisfying, and I would venture to guess, truest to Wagner's original vision of them all.

Klaus Tennstedt? I’d have to say in our lifetime, no one was more commanding in all his Wagnerian majesty than him. But this with eyes closed and head on the pillow - surely a beautiful rendition. Supremely paced, rich deep strings, muted horns, and such a rare pleasure to enjoy this energetic female conductor. Surprising that the players can be so separated from each other yet play as tightly as they did. What talent!

Wagner was a great genius and this piece was one of the coolest: Siegfried from the 'Ring of the Nibelungen'.
