I found a pronounced difference when using 'wagyu' for smash burgers; while good, the beef is simply too rich for someone raised on McDonald's. $9USD/lb. I found the simple supermarket 80/20 to be more to my liking. Will experiment more!

The wagyu has big pockets of fat, but not a lot of marbling compared to what I see online. Both steaks seemed very expensive. The angus was the equivalent of US$54 per pound, which is unheard of in a supermarket. Prime grade angus is half that here in Colorado. What is the price in the UK?

The wagyu steak was too thin and not of great quality. The Angus steak was slightly thicker but just okay. I can find much better steaks in the UK, and for a much lower price. My favourite cut is rump, and I can buy a fantastic 400g, 30-day matured steak for about £9. Anyway, I was excited to see the options in the supermarket 👌😊👍
