I just bought the Bolt v2 and it's great for my training and lighter than the roam, but if you use to navigate probably I would prefer roam v2, if you dont use a lot the navigation the bolt is a great and cheaper option!.

Tariq - your presentation style is so great and I always look forward to your reviews. Regarding ROAM's buttons, it's becoming moot because I've become hooked on a tiny remote control (Titan Lab Kommander) that emulates Di2 D-FLY buttons via ANT+. I originally got it just for Zwift but I find Kommander great for full-fingered gloves and it reduces the fiddling/distraction level - can operate it with only my right thumb without removing hand from the bar. It would be great to get your take on it!

I have the new Bolt and I love it. The only issue I found is that it doesn’t work with standard available USB-C cables in some cases. For example, I have a USB-C to USB-C cable and it doesn’t charge the Bolt 2. I used also a Thunderbolt USB-C cable, that should provide more charging power, it didn’t work either. If you are on the road and you forgot your USB-C cable, good luck to find a compatible USB-C cable that charges your Bolt V2.

Maps can be loaded via your phone or wifi. Once maps are loaded into the unit, it doesn’t require phone of internet connection to create routes. And yes, both have back on track functionality.

Does BOLD V2 also freeze after driving about 250-300km? In ROAM and I already have a second one, it is normal that the GPS will hang. It IS very annoying. Wahoo service can't help me. Their official answer is that ROAM is only up to 250km, a shock for me such a response from the manufacturer.

@@RawrSezerMW3 the Garmin Connect app lets you choose a distance and direction, and it will suggest a ride for you that you can sync to your Edge device. Strava also does a suggested ride by distance, plus a few other filters, and it's better than the Garmin at using ride data to avoid busy roads, etc. I believe it's only available to paid membership, though.

@@LeeCassidy I've tried this feature a couple years ago, back in the times when I wasn't familiar with all the Wahoo goodness. It didn't worked at all, despite that I'm living in the Russia's second largest city. It just said that there's no routes here. After my second Garmin Edge 520 died unexpectedly I decided to try something different - the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt instead of the Garmin 530. Boy! I'm glad I did. kzbin.infoUgkxXZCtB-wGdHVTBSz8RswePK5vllHNi06N The display on the Wahoo Bolt is much easier to read. I like the configuration of the display more (up to 7 items visible on page 1 without scrolling and the first item chosen is larger characters than the next 3 rows that have pairs of items (still very readable). I also like the configurable item selections. The Bolt synced with my Garmin ANT+ Speed sensors on both bikes easily so no additional investment was required there. While the rated battery life is a couple hours less than the Garmin 520/530, I easily get a weeks worth of 1+ hour rides before recharging (and it's never really low on charge). At the end of a ride syncing to the Wahoo app, Strava, and Apple Health app is painless.
