How much closer can they get to make it all feel like an outdoor ride? The kickr climb needs a pivot next to get the steering feature.

I got the lite ride thing that does the same thing. The experience is ehhh. It also takes a while to get over the fear of tipping over. I've never used the Tacx but I think that could be the best. I've seen videos of Katie Kookaburra using that and it looks like riding out of the saddle works well.

Very good content. I understand you kind of reviewed it in the past but how is the stability of the climb especially now that the whole thing moves front/back and also a bit sideways? I've been holding the decision to buy as i'm afrai it will be kind of unstable while sprinting or something like that

Jeeeze 50$ USD for a bit of rubber.... 🤯 it should be almost free + P&H via redemption with proof of purchase of the new modle trainer. Last I checked Wahoo is the ones who made their own climb incompatible with their own newer trainer.

I'd expect with the price of the Move, Wahoo might toss this in as a bonus if you already own a Climb.

Shane, with this set up, is it better than the Kickr Bike as far as indoor immersive cycling goes? Cheers
@gplama Жыл бұрын
The two differences are physical gear changes on this setup (as opposed to a belt drive and virtual gears on the Kickr Bike), and the pivot point of the tilt being slightly different. Neither are ‘better’, imo.

Almost every current generation smart trainer will be compatible with your bike.
crazy, unrelated question. I have a 7 year old Hammer and it seems like the diff between it and my assioma has grown, even after calibrations and everything. i'm not sweating it too much, functionally it's fine otherwise but was curious if you can foresee older trainers losing accuracy over time

One for Saris support if they're still providing it. Sounds like a worn belt that'll need tension adjustment.

I’ve not used the new Kickr, but I can’t conceptually understand why I would want my trainer to rock back and forth? This doesn’t simulate any natural movement you’d experience out on the road. Interestingly, even if I did want it to do this, I notice it barely moves anyway when you’re riding normally. Feels more like a gimmick than anything worthwhile.
@rednal4451 Жыл бұрын
Agree. And I also think you might lose some watts by it. When you sprint, and it slides backwards, it just has to lower your power imo. And basically, the back and forth moving is energy which has to come from the legs too, and isn't used to generate in-game power. All movements are additional losses (and get eventually dissipated in a bit heat). That being said, and looking at this video, it seems that the Move actually barely moves when the Climb is attached. It seems like the Climb makes the Move not really worth it? I mean, if it barely slides anyway, you can better pick a traditional Kickr (and saving some money)?
@chris1275cc Жыл бұрын
Not used the K' Move but I have had a couple of rocker plates, one that only moved side to side, which makes things feel more comfortable by just being less ridged but doesn't add to realism IMO, and one that moves side to side and forward/backward and strangely for a more realistic feel it's the forward/backward movement that does it (as long as you don't think about it to much), so much so I set the plate to minimise side to side to little more than a wobble, even the guys that build their own plates are moving in that direction (if you pardon the pun). It doesn't really make sense, and it's still far from feeling "really" real though.
@kruysser Жыл бұрын
More movement for a kickr climb would be terrifying. Wahoo has amazing customer support, but the climbs already fail spectacularly, so failing spectacularly at a higher angle…yikes. (FE Sports just sent me my 4th replacement CLIMB due to belt major slipping or snapping…)
@gplama Жыл бұрын
Four!? Fark. I typically have a three-strikes policy when things fail.
@stephenhersee Жыл бұрын
@@gplama I recently had my climb replaced for the 2nd time after the belt slipped twice in 1 ride. Wahoo support are fantastic (if a little slow to respond at times) but replaced it with no hassle again. For me the belt slips when I get out of the saddle and put more power down as the gradient increases. The gradient goes up, the climb goes up, my power goes up, my centre of gravity shifts and I put more of my 85kg's through the handlebars/forks/climb and bingo, we have ourselves another belt slip situation. "Four!? Fark. I typically have a three-strikes policy when things fail" My issue here, I paid £500 for the climb, I want to use that, not have it thrown away after 18 months of minimal riding! The fact they still make the climb, to the original specs and haven't even updated it from a hardware point with the HUGE number of failures is a spectacular fail if you ask me. Just watching you get out of the saddle at +20% was enough to put me right off ever thinking about the Kickr move + climb combo! It looks so unstable knowing a hardware failure could happen anytime.
