This song always hits hard for me. Lost the love of my life 5 years ago. He was Maori and I always loved hearing of his mother's culture as our relationship flourished. I miss him so much. Tino ataahua te waiata. I first heard this waiata at my nephews wedding and i thought what a beautiful waiata. Not quite understanding the kupu but definitely felt the aroha, passion, soul and wairua. Bought tears to my eyes with feelings of gratefulness, thankfulness and humility.
