mechashadow Basically, when you get a Blade Combo Finisher, the enemy gets an element orb of the element you didnthe Stage 3 special for. So if you finish a Blade Combo with a Fire special (Like Fire-Fire-Fire), you will get a fire orb on the enemy. If an enemy has an element orb, they’ll take less damage from Blade Specials of that element. When you use a chain attack, you try to break the element orbs. Using the opposite element breaks the orb 2 stages out of 3 (Fire and Water, Electric And Earth, Ice and Wind, Light and Darkness). When an orb is broken, you get an extra round of attacks in the Chain Attack, and all specials during the Chain Attack after the Orb is broken will be stronger. If you break enough orbs in one chain attack, you initiate Full Burst, where everyone uses all their arts and their Level 4 Specials.

I actually really like that "Aiyaaaah!" line, I think it's amazing voice acting, because it sounds exactly like what it is. Some kid that doesn't know shit yelling at the top of his lungs as he swings a huge ass sword around. It makes Rex sound like an idiot who doesn't know WTF he's doing but that's what he is. That idea is further cemented by Pyra taking the leading role in combat 30 seconds later, using her sword herself instead of letting Rex do it.

I love XB2, except for the tutorials. I actually forgot all about the tuts until TCG brought it all flooding back in 30 minutes. To anyone considering this game: It's a good, tropey romp through a weird world, and you will see your last tutorial at approximately level 70. You will have bosses solely set up for tutorials, and until about 15 hours in, you'll even have a few tuts pop into combat to just say "hi", throw off your mash, and maybe teach you some mechanic that just unlocked. If you mashed it away somehow, RIP, because there's no way to revisit them outside of old Reddit threads. I still enjoyed it, but you have to steel yourself for the tutorial spam.

While I will admit that some side Blades have good voice acting, that Zeke, while different, is great and that Pandoria is interpreted fantastically, the english voice acting has pretty big issues, mainly the fact that they had no context but also the scouting Most of the voice actors for this game never voiced anyone before which, for such a dialogue heavy game with lots of amazing characters, is really dumb I didn't compare every character's voices but here are some of my opinions from what I've heard : For Mythra/Pyra... I really have a lot of trouble While Skye's interpretation isn't really bad per say, for Pyra, it lacks the somewhat caring, gentle, slightly motherly tone of the japanese voice For Mythra, it's not too bad, just a lack of emotion at times Rex is... Let's just say it took me a while to take him seriously in japanese so in english it's... Tora is good actually, I just don't like the nopon voice in general Poppi's seems way too mature. Sadly I haven't had the occasion to hear QTpi so I can't tell if they did a good job at keeping the same voice but maturing the tone Mòrag is great but when you compare her to the japanese one, it's just... Lacking in a way. It really is good but a deep, male sounding voice for Mòrag is really the best, plus it makes more sense for Tora to be confused about her gender Haven't actually heard Brighid's Jin is way too edgy tbh, in japanese he's got that edge but it remains calm, cold and slightly soothing, fitting him far better Malos is good, I'd say he swears too much but then again I can't be sure about the japanese version soo I haven't heard Akhos' but I seriously doubt that the voice actors put as much effort and emotion as the japanese one tbh (Like, you put him on your party and he screams japanese nonsense I love it) Dromarch sounds way too old, like what Gramps sounds like in Japanese And Nia...She just... Doesn't fit I'm sorry You could pull the "Oh but young looking Blades don't have to sound young" argument But Nia's original driver died as a teenager (I think she was around 12-14?) And Nia, when she became a flesh eater, took her driver's appearance And, I'm sorry, but her voice sounds way too deep to be that of a child I know that you might say that the japanese one sounds like a generic young girl But voices don't need to be special or have some crazy accents to be good It should fit the character and be emotional like the character When you think about that character, that voice should feel normal Sadly this isn't always the case with this game If Monolith had done a better job with context then maybe But sadly, this isn't a very good dub And believe me, I am sad that this wasn't as good as the X one,I really wish I could have listened to post-battle quotes and understand what they say Plus I generally am good with dubs, X's was fantastic, XC1's too (Well, from what I've heard, I haven't gone far at all in it sorry) and let me write a 50 page essay on why the Persona 5 dub is the best dub ever But I really can't enjoy voice acting that doesn't sound natural (Holy shit I write too much and gave my opinion, which a lot of people will disapprove fuck)
