A walking tour of ALL of Waikiki Beach. I walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village at the start of Waikiki Beach to the Marriott on the other end of Waikiki Beach. Waikiki Beach is a world-famous beach located in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is known for its beautiful white sand, clear blue waters, and gentle waves. The beach is also popular for surfing, swimming, sunbathing, and stand-up paddleboarding.

As the crow flies, I live 12 miles away from Waikiki. So that's what Waikiki beach looks like nowadays. No rush to go there anytime soon. Too many tourists! :) I do appreciate them being the driver of our economy and enjoy my interactions with most of them.

Nice tour of the beach area Chris. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village at the end of July for a few days, which was incredible (they gave us an upgrade to an ocean-view room). The last time I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village was on a college conference trip many years ago.

Great tour, that is a long walk. I had no idea the Hilton was so close to “central Waikiki”. Just a walk along the beach. I have stayed at many hotels here, however the last one being well over 25 years ago. A lot seems to have changed and sadly it does not look like it has improved for the better. Seems quite dirty. The “pink palace” “the Brady bunch hotel” 😂 no longer has a green area nor really a beachfront. I am really glad that you showed that, as I was consider another trip back and staying there again, but no longer will do that. All those hotels in that area were considered the best, but back at that time all of them had large green areas, there own “private” beach and in front of that the public beach. All the designer shops, Tiffany’s, art galleries etc seem to have also gone. Those designer stores were not found in every city back then. Yes, so much has simply disappeared. The outrigger used to massive, I considered it to be an eyesore, not a luxury hotel especially for the $ they wanted back at that time. I can only image what they are asking for now. Seems to look like it’s about the $ they can make now on the beachfront rather than green friendly spaces and the rising waters taking away the beaches. Over time I navigated further towards hotels on the other side of the road but still beachfront going further to the zoo and eventually staying at the very last hotel on multiple occasions. Extremely affordable at that time and a low traffic flow. I guess not anymore. The Sheraton you mentioned not to stay at because it was not beachfront, actually was really good, but I did not pay anything on that trip though. I will take your word for it that things have gone downhill. Thank-you so much for posting this. Maybe I will look at the four seasons, hopefully you have explored that hotel and have a video on it. Not sure how far that away from downtown Waikiki. Fun fact - the sand is actually delivered to Waikiki beaches from Australian beaches and I don’t know if jelly fish are still completely covering the sand every morning and a well prepared team would clean them up before the tourists made there way to the beach in the morning. You did that long walk effortlessly.

Hi Chris. Wonderful walking tour of Waikiki Beach. Great information that I didn't know about. The name of the hotel from the Sheraton is the Princess Kaiulani. It's so sad that the erosion is taking away the sand from the area. It was great when we could walk really enjoy the Waikiki Beach area. I give you a pass for wearing shoes on the beach since it is a walking tour and you had to detour on the the sidewalk. LOL. Mahalo for sharing and take care.😀🤙

It’s been two months since I’ve returned from Waikiki from a family trip. My wife and I stayed at the Alohilani Resort. Other than a tiny bathroom and expensive parking rates, I’ve enjoyed the stay and for my first Hawaii trip, I’ve enjoyed the overall experience. If you haven’t done a review on Alohilani, I suggest a future video of it. I also predict videos of Kualoa Ranch and the North Shore as well.

Not an expert, but I HAVE HEARD that the sand at Waikiki is imported. Maybe just a vicious rumor, but I think likely true, as there is not really anywhere else in Hawaii with so much sand. And where there is sand it is often a different color.
