Aloha from Australia. We were there that day. It was our 4th trip to Hawaii and this time we spent 8 nights at Waikiki Shore - a condominium complex right on the beach next to Fort DeRussy Park and just around the corner from Lewers street Beach Walk shops. As this was being filmed, we were having dinner at Orchids Halekulani as the sun was setting. It was beautiful that night. I remember the clouds lighting up with colour at sunset but I don’t remember it raining. We had Tanaka of Tokyo Tepanyaki the night before. We walked through the Royal Hawaiian Centre almost every day on our way to the main Waikiki beach. We had breakfast at Dukes one morning and one night after our Sunset Catamaran cruise we had dinner at Dukes barefoot bar. We also had a cocktail and snack under the Banyan tree at Moana Surf Rider. It’s fantastic to be able to eat and drink at all the beautiful resorts along the beach front even if you don’t stay there. We love Waikiki! So lovely to watch this as a reminder. Wish we were still there…

Aloha! Love this itinerary. Did you try the Steak Shack by the Waikiki Shore? It's one of my favorite spots for a quick bite to eat...and their teriyaki sauce is AMAZING.

Oh, that’s where we’re staying!! It looks close enough to the beach. The pool didn’t look too good in one pic, but looks amazing in others. Have to do it in person!

I went in November 2002 for 3 weeks. Had a couple of days of rain, however so much to do that it did not matter,it's warm rain anyway 😊

True! The rain isn't too bad - only if you're doing an outdoor activity like a luau. If you're just out and about, it's not too bad. In rainy season, I usually toss my travel umbrella in my purse.

Depends where you will be on the island. Will you be in Waikiki? North shore? East coast? West side? Typically, west side is the driest and rains the least (so it could be raining in Honolulu but sunny skies on the west side)
