Ah, the "In defence of the Scottish Resistance", good video and a decent counter point to Lazy's opinions on it from How it feels. 7:32 Just like the Sandman. People do easily forget that is a thing for the melee projectiles. 14:42 The demo has set up the binds for the 4 loadout presets, and pressing them to respawn with the same loadout to use their charge again. As to why they are doing it? It is set up time, and might be a bit bored. And the shaking is just because he is close enough to the demos as they collide into the wall with their bash.

the wrap assassin is arguably scout's best melee weapon. it has functionally no downside as you shouldn't be hitting people with melee anyway as scout, allows for dot harassment that even pyros aren't immune to and doesn't give you damage vulnerability of any kind. the only reason people don't like it is because it requires you to aim with it. that or they try to tell you that the boston basher is infinitely more useful for it's ability to help medics build uber fast

Forgot that the knockback from a mid-air miss with the basher also helped gain a bit extra hight as well.

Indeed. And I seriously don't get it. I am not an aim god and can still hit with it fairly well. This thing has secured me so many kills I am sure the people saying it is bad have never actually properly tried it.

For utility, the Atomizer is the best Scout melee. Being able to quadruple jump with the atomizer and force a nature combo is satisfying and adds so much mobility. Also hitting Wrap Assassin balls is surprisingly easy

14:42 When Demoman charges into a wall or an enemy, it creates a screen-shake to everyone near the impact. There are also some key binds that let's you quick-switch to different loadout slots, and if you probably noticed, you "respawn" again without dying while changing weapons in spawn. The Demoman recharges his shield meter on respawn so it lets him spam it. Now imagine that with 12 Demoman doing the same thing. Also used the Wrap Assassin before it was cool gang

The main boon of the Wrap Assassin is that you have literally nothing to lose by equipping it over stock, because why would any scout in their right mind use the stock bat? It is essentially a free long ranged attack that frees up your secondary slot for either doubling down and using the cleaver or for allowing you to have a good medium by using a pistol of choice. It might as well be a straight upgrade.

Personally I still prefer the Atomizer for the extra movement it gives you, but even before the Sandman got spayed and neutered to the point of practical non-useability the Wrap Assassin was still like the 3rd best scout melee for general play. But people tended to overlook it because "DURR DISCOUNT SANDMAN" and their previous biases kept them from realizing it's a decent option.

Ranged Flava got me my first Scout 10-kill streak. Does it take timing, aim, and skill... to a degree. If you have movement as Scout down pat, you'll profit big time running the Wrap Assassin. (Baby Assassin)

Before the Wrap Assasin was Fixed, it couldnt be used before on Badwater Last (thats the last Payload Point) and what happened if you did use it on Badwater last? It would hit an invisible wall everywhere, and not travel like normal
