As a chelsea fan, Sterling is crazy good and would make chelsea very dangerous if he stayed but the thing is that for one of the highest earner at chelsea, he’s not playing like a leader. He shows up when he wants to and when he shows up, he is unstoppable but then Sterling got really comfortable and started playing like he was in retirement. Now He has something to prove and yeah that is scary, no one wants to play against Sterling that has something to prove. How I wish Chelsea can renegotiate his deal and keep him.

It's not really about consistency! He got 36G/A in 17/18, 36G/A in 18/19 and 36G/A in 19/20 and around 25G/A in 16/17, 20/21 and 21/22. This is more about him not being the right fit for Chelsea, plus he's now 29 and could well be regressing. Vini got 42G/A in 21/22, 44G/A in 22/23 and 35G/A in 23/24. He's also done that as a 21-23 year old. Sterling's 17/18 - 19/20 was as a 22-25 year old so older and his peak didn't hit as high. Sterling also declined afterwards. So, no Vini is and was more talented overall.

He was getting too much hate than deserved. One silly mistake and he should be fired. Those same players were defending Palmer well enough until he started consistently performing. Palmer was in a slump after the 4-1 against Newcastle, but with the fans backing, he became the best Chelsea player. If Sterling had the same backing Chelsea fans give to Enzo or Mudryk or Palmer, he could've done way more than he was doing.

@wasp3417 Ziyech had a lot of support, and he didn't have much to show for it. Everyone was only looking at the player from Ajax when he clearly wasn't playing like him. But they still backed him. Enzo did well on 22/23, but 23/24 wasn't his season. Yet he still got support until some kids started saying drop Enzo. Mudryk's backing is something I genuinely don't understand because his fans say he's young, but Nicholas Jackson is younger. He's had 2 seasons with us already, so he should be prem experienced. This season should be his make or break season. And I agree with you. We abused the life out of Diego Costa. The only reason he didn't know is because he barely spoke English, and we act like we gave him his flowers when he was here.

I’m not from England but he always was one of my favourite.. He is very good dynamic player and he miss England in Euro because they have no one on left side, maybe with him wasn’t their play so bad to watch.. I see him left, Saka right, Foden middle on CAM position.. Trippier is dead on left side and Walker sucks so I would switch them and left play Shaw maybe, in Midfield Bellingham with Rice.. Watkins was awesome this season he deserves more time on the pitch maybe i play him for better movement to start and Kane play as Joker.. Palmer with Mainoo subs for second period.. For me they play well only If they must, aka when coaches defensive play just doesn’t work so he push them forward, they are only saving coaches ass whole tournament..

Sterling is the best off the ball runner in the world. He is always in the spotlight, because he always manages to make incisive runs behind the defensive line. He is not a great finisher, but when he plays in any team you will notice the difference he makes. He gives the midfielders options. Btw, his greatest flaw is his confidence. When other players miss a chance they continue to play. If Sterling misses a chance his head drops. If he were not a good player no coach would keep him at their club, but this guy starts in every team irrespective of different coaches.

Yes. That was especially evident at City. One of the reasons he gets underrated a lot has probably to do with the fact that he's a winger, yet his biggest strength is _off the ball._ But people who just laugh at his "shit finishing" and say he wasn't incredible during his prime are just morons/haters. You don't become Pep's second highest goal scorer behind Messi without being exceptional. And Sterling's strength is how he takes advantage of his speed off the ball. Both the timing of his runs _and also_ just the path of the run he chooses consistently got him into positions in the 6 yard box, totally free with a pass arriving at his feet for an "easy tapin".

By the numbers he’s a good finishers. he misses a howler or 2, but so does any other striker, especially one that gets in good positions. And if you actually watched full Chelsea games last season, at the beginning of the season, he was Chelsea’s main creative outlet, they just would all miss howlers. Then he went out of the team, and Palmer really stepped up, and they froze him out of the team basically. Also they kept chopping and changing who’s in the team, and really weren’t playing for much, it was just vibes.

Fun fact: Sterling has as of now scored 123 goals in 379 games in the PL. That's a goal in just over 3 games. Sterling has played United 26 times, but he's never scored against them. It's actually staggering that one of the best goal scorers in the PL of the last decade hasn't scored once against United! He's got 2 assists in those 26 games.
