Waiting for Device! How to fix this using Hardware Manager for Light Rider LR512 or ADJ mydmx GO

If you're not already running firmware v0.24 or later on your mydmxGo or Light Rider LR512 then you need to update. Here's how.
Whilst we're here, using DUAL MODE to connect to your interface to your home network can make your life a lot easier and I'll show you how to do this too. Lastly, changing the default Wi-Fi channel often helps improve Wi-Fi performance and reduce drop-outs.

I have the latest firmware and mydmxgo's connection to my tablet dropped over 20 times tonight! AWEFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Why in the world is there not a hardwire option?

Updated to newest firmware last week and a whole other set of problems developed. I also updated the Ipad operating system to get ahead of the game just to be sure other problems were not being created by not doing one without the other. The first problem that developed was connecting to the dongle via the MyDMX network using the default password I never updated and it just kept giving me the wrong password error. When I finally solved that issue by going into and changing the password in the wifi menu It began to allow me to connect. Then it kept losing connection and then different fixtures lost their addresses or began to act erratic. The problems I was having I have never seen on any message boards. This is a great tutorial I wish I had seen before updating because it explains very well what I found out on my own. However I just wonder if the problems I'm having are Firmware, Ipad, or fixture issues.

This update broke Hardware Manager. It detects the mydmx go interface but is no longer able to open it.

Thanks for the video. My issue is that the Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping and have restart I pad and DMX go frequently. Now if I get a Samsung tab and hardwire it will that help?

I am sorry that did not resolve the issue. We have had to restart my DMX go and I pad frequently due to the Wi-Fi disconnecting very frequently. This can be very frustrating during a busy gig. Any other suggestions or product recommendations.

I did the update of my device, and still not connect, I had the dmx go since came out on the market, but is really annoying , never can used it as well , is been always problem to connect with the app, still after I just did the upgrade . if you have any other solution it will be very helpful , thanks for the video.

Hello everybody, I'm a beginner with LR and I use Sushi SD as an interface. Yesterday I tried LR for the first time so I created a project, inserted my Chinese head and adjusted the range of motion. This, for reasons of convenience, I did it only on one head but I have four. If I mount all four heads, will my project work on all of them or do I still have to insert the three missing ones? Thank you

I've updated firmware and run a diagnostic on the MyDMXGo unit with no issues identified but I can't get the device to go into LI mode ...any ideas ?

I was so thankful for your video because I am having this issue straight out of the box. I Tried the firmware update and it still hasn't changed. Still says waiting for device. Any other suggestions?

Make sure you close Hardware Manager on your computer and your interface returns to show "01". You could even remove power and restart your mydmx GO/LR512. If Hardware Manager is still running on your computer it locks the DMX interface and the Light Rider/mydmx GO app will not be able to connect (it is literally waiting for the device to become available - exactly as the message says!).

HOW I GOT MINE TO WORK: I reset and restart EVERYTHING after. I thought mine was a dud too. I actually created a new project then came back to the original project and everything came to life.

I’m doing the firmware update and at the bottom it says “Enter in Bootloader” not sure if that’s normal but it’s taking a long time.

The firmware update should only take a few seconds. If you're still having trouble, restart your interface and try starting again.

Thanks for the tip. Just to let you know I have recently purchased Kam Stratosphere Ghost and I’ve tried setting up the lights with its brand & model fixture. The Address are correct but not the Channels. On the app it says 12 channels. In the lights it’s 11 channels? None of its features works. What did I do wrong? Thanks

The Stratosphere is 12 channels. A quick Google search doesn't reveal an 11-channel version anywhere. Join the LR Help and Support (address in the vide details above) and share more details of any Manual you have and we'll help you out.

@@LightRiderTips If you look at the model guide KML303 models it tells you it’s has 3 or 11 channel. Which makes me think these lights are new. And the MyDMXGo hasn’t been updated yet!

Just did the update but the mydmxgo & now it stuck on “L1”... anything I can do about that? It’s originally on channel “01” , but after plugging it in, seeing the “01” disappear, it works on “L1” now. Kinda weird. Followed ur video to a tea... any advice would be appreciated.

"LI" = "LIVE" and means the device IS connected and talking to your computer. "01" means is it NOT connected...

If you are using a Windows PC, have you definitely downloaded and installed the Windows drivers?

That's not good news. If restarting the interface and your computer does not solve this, I recommend you speak to either ADJ (for mydmx GO) or Light Rider (for LR512). I know a few people have experienced this issue but I'm not sure what the solution is.

It's not possible to update firmware using an iPad. The "Hardware Manager" application is only for Windows or MacOS.
