since I'm here for some reason... can you change classes after what you pick on start or is it locked?

You can change classes in this series after picking a starter class. You might be stuck in that class a few hours, but this series allows class changes at certain places if you have the proper experience currency to unlock. Once unlocked you can change at any class station where able within the game

You can change your vocation as soon as you get to Gran Soren. Just talk to the man in the inn. It costs you a little bit of xp (the most is 1,500) but once you've purchased it, switching to your starter vocation or any other you've bought doesn't cost you anything.

Also, you will unlock all classes because passives are not class locked. You can use rogue passives on fighter, etc.
