I don't want to bring negativity here, and I almost didn't say anything so it doesn't spread, but it breaks my heart when people could be that way. Michelle Butler I completely agree with you that there should be no negativity, but maybe they did a thumbs down because they were saying that’s sad and putting a thumbs up would mean there was no compassion. I thought the same thing but one time I was praying about something and I felt that God was saying “Look at this a different way”, and I was like, “oh yeah”. So now I try to have an open mind because I don’t know what they were thinking when they hit that hands down button.

Glad you're doing better and all is well Jessica! Your voice will get back to normal. I had a similar surgery which left a hole in my palate and I sounded funny for a while but it went away. It heals from the inside out kinda. I can't get over that Audrey. She's so cute and mature! And Evelynn and Garrett are so stinkin cute I can't. Glad you're back with your babies! My prayers remain with you!

Try some Boost drink that will give you what you need to keep up some strength. Pudding is also good as it will liquify in the open cavity. For the record, I knew this was going to be okay, but I did lose a good bit of sleep over you. I am thrilled for you all! Now heal and praise!

If you are still having a hard time eating try drinking your meals. Ensure, smoothies, protein shakes or broth. This is the one time don’t want to lose too much weight.

Bert, I wanted to add that you are an amazing husband and father. The attention to detail in your loving care of your family is touching and inspiring. You seem to put a great deal of thought and effort in caring for them and meeting their needs. It is a beautiful thing to observe. I have been touched by your concern for others as well i.e when you were leaving for Texas you asked the subscribers to pray for each other’s needs.....what a thoughtful gesture when you both were facing so much yourselves. I had a cleft palate when I was born & despite multiple surgeries, one small hole just kept opening up so they left it. There are lots of weird little things that come along with a hole in the roof of your mouth (like eating ice cream means my nose runs chocolatey LOL) so if you ever want to vent about it, feel free to message me! :D So very grateful they got it all

Thank you, Jesus!!!! Oh, Sweet, Sweet Jessica...I am so very happy to see you (You, too, Bert and family!!!!!!) We have been praying constantly for you and you are never very far from our thoughts. This is a rough time, but I PROMISE you that in a very short time, this will all be a memory and you will be back on your feet and completely HEALED! Your mouth will heal and this will all be in the past! We look forward to seeing you back in Alaska soon and know that with Spring coming, a new chapter in your life will begin!! As I said in my last post, you two are like my own kids and I tend to 'Mother' a bit...hope you don't mind? Just take care!! May I suggest some pudding, ice cream, milk shakes (Boost wouldn't hurt, either!!) Mashed potatoes or any other veggie that could be pureed? Praise the Lord. Praise His most blessed wonderful name. You guys have been on my mind and I've been worrying and wondering how it all turned out...hadn't heard anything for almost a week and was afraid of the worst. So glad to know it's over and you are cancer free, and there are no further treatments. May God expedite your healing, Jessica, and make it easier for you to eat and talk. Interesting that you were unable to fly in to Seattle at first...yes, we had LOTS of snow last week, in fact the Puget Sound area was actually colder than Alaska at one point!! Was kind of weird to think of that. My house had about a foot of snow until all the rain came to wash it away. Glad you are home safe with your little ones. Get well quick and God bless you all.

This kind of reminds me of when I had major throat surgery at age 19. (Many years ago) I’ll never forget the pain and recovery period but it does get better. So glad you made it home. Keep drinking lots of fluids and eat whatever you want. You are so lucky to be married to a man like Bert. He’s awesome! Have a happy recovery.
