There’s no boom (Since MTT didn’t even allude to that.) but I believe one change that comes from this is that Mettaton Neo’s shield during battle lasts 1.5 times longer than normal.

Honestly they should’ve made it kill you and then when you reset Asriel starts criticizing you since he is aware of resets. Would work as a great meta joke if you do it multiple times and each time he because more dumbfounded.
