Waiting til marriage 18-months was best decision

For 18 months, no sex was the best decision we’ve ever made!
1. We gained a more intimate relationship with God and a better understanding of who we were and what He wanted us to do in our walk with Him! With God as our firm foundation, we knew we could never fail!
2. It helped us increase our non-sexual intimacy and getting to know one another on a deeper level! Sex is great, but it’s gonna take more than that to build a strong marriage and navigate through the ups and downs, spiritually and emotionally.
3. Communication!!! We learned how best to speak to one another, especially when we didn’t see eye to eye and things to work towards resolution. Yelling and trying to tear one another down is never acceptable, so learning to move past frustrating times in a healthy way was awesome!

im 14 and so many people my age have already done it. I’ve been judged for saying i’m gonna wait because i want to have that connection with my partner. It’s hard but i know it’s worth it in the end and it will benifit me and my partner in the future.

Very well said! The thing that sucks is that I am sure so many people have that thought process. To stick true to something you truly believe in isn’t always gonna be socially accepted, but that just means you have to lean in so much harder to what you believe and align yourself with those liked minded individuals. How are you maintaining a circle of true friends and relations?

And most of my friends aren't necssisarily like minded but they are definitley supportive and understanding and are able to have mature conversations around these topics. @@wearetheedmonds
