Freedom is not an entitlement. It is a privilege to have freedom. Some of our political people would like to limit our freedoms so they can have a better control over the American people. These politicians forget one aspect of their position. Sad, this takes place in this beautiful country, but to be fair this happens to all Americans citizens depending where they are at. I’m not a veteran, never been in trouble with the police, yet at an airport I was asked by a lady, was I a wet back. One, the cops would need RAS to search the bag and they clearly did not have that and Two, the waitress was insisting on searching the bag was an act of racism. No one else had their bags searched nor were isolated and treated in such a disrespectful way. Three, the waitress has just admitted that the manager had given instructions that people of colour must be treated with suspicious and caution. This is a work of fiction, not well written and not well thought out. In reality the veteran should have sued the waitress, the manager and the cops. Also the police dept and the City.

Kick out the waitress would be a logical thing to do; however, in a service business the "atmosphere" is established by the management and/or owners and the identified manager was clearly establishing the atmosphere. There is a saying that "left to itself, an organism will do as it dam well pleases". In this scenerio as the script was written and delivered, the manager had been hearing and seeing the situation unfold and when he intervened he did so to defend the actions of the waitress thus validating the actions of the waitress against the customer. Therefore, I will presume that the waitress had likely acted from direction she had previously received. Question for the owner of the business would be who trained the manager. We aren't told in this story; however if the manager was also the owner then the situation is even more complex. From appearances, the manager is up the creek without a paddle.
