I met him on a flight from Syracuse to Washington. We spoke for almost 30 minutes. When I told him I was former Navy he spoke in great detail about prior Navy accomplishments. I was impressed. He was super down to earth. Stormin Norman.

How did the military go from the heights of Schwartzkopf down to the depths of Milley in the past 30 years?
@eddiesimms93014 ай бұрын
In March of 1978, I arrived at Ft Lewis Wa to report for active duty and was assigned to HHC 2nd Bn 39th Infantry, 1st Brigade, 9th Infantry Division. My time serving at Ft Lewis was a combination of good times and some difficulties here and there, etc. I met some fine soldiers, both officers and enlisted as well. But the most memorable moment was I had the PRIVILEGE of serving in the 1st Bgde......My Bgde Cmndr was yours truly, then COL. Norman H Schwarzkopf. In fact, we, the officers, NCO'S, and the enlisted of the 1st Bgde witnessed the promotion of COL. Schwarzkopf to Brigadier General. It was WELL DESERVED!!....Gen. Schwarzkopf was well liked and RESPECTED by both his peers and his subordinates.....He was a fine LEADER and a GOOD MAN...R.I.P

Our politics are so anti-military that to achieve the top jobs you have to be a sensitive, left wing type wussie focused on political correctness rather than war skills, or the Senate will not accept you. Competence and leadership ability need not apply. This is going to cost us dearly in the future.

Schwartzkopf was an Obama fan and they loved to disagree. We do not want war all over. Obama was a brain. Now, Trump is going to show you what you voted for. What is moral to you ? poverty, no schools, the billionaires selling patriotism, the free market that abandoned all the US workers and showed you what they were a bout. You are being robed. Yes conservatives, but now you need a new party, not the republicans. Some party that can fight the Democrats, without selling the south short.

West Point, when it was great. This was before the Clinton/Obama era of PC garbage infested the institution. Bush was status quo. West Point is VERY SICK today as are all the other service academies. I hope Trump can fix this problem. It's a tall order. It's much easier to screw something up, than to fix something.
