Do you know what changed with the defense? Guildry finally put Powell #0 in the nickle, Markeith Williams at safety, Meisidor as DE and benched Tyler Baron with more blitz packages like we did against UF. Problem solved 💯. Jaden Harris still needs to come off the field. Also Clark and Cook added size to the interior

Let’s not forget that the QB from Rutgers was the starting QB for Ohio State last year. Rutgers is known for putting the ball in the air and our secondary will be challenged. If we make it past Rutgers, then we have a good chance of winning over SMU. Playing difficult teams will help The U become a better team. Only after facing adversity can we grow. IF they manage to beat Syracuse, and that’s a big if, this crap that they keeping pulling; not scoring in an entire quarter, starting slow, etc. is not going to work against SMU. If they go to the ACC Championship game, they’d better play the best A game because you know damn well Lashlee is going to be throwing everything at their defense. He wants to absolutely win that game especially if it’s against Miami. If SMU manages to win the ACC Championship game it would NOT be a good look for Miami.

I honestly think we look our best when we are balanced on offense. We are relying too much on Ward or forcing everything through him. There are series in which we pass the ball on all three downs. We need to run the football. It gives the defense time to rest and hopefully make some changes. We need to control the time of possession and dominate teams. We have the o-line for some smash mouth football. Especially against teams that are trying to shut down our passing attack. Punish them up the middle and use a speedster to kill them on sweeps.

It's cool to be tough on them when they deserve it but let's add a bit of perspective. Our defense gave up one touchdown and that was on the busted coverage. Special teams gave up a touchdown and that needs some work. All in all our defense held this team to one touchdown. It didn't look great happening but on the scoreboard it was brilliant.

Our defense looks horrible. We have an improved we digressed from game one, I’ve said it before on other channels or what not I just think Miami should run for straight down Lyman that’s our strength our depth and everything on defense is in the deep align one of three down lineman and extra DB or linebackers and have them rush and rush the four lineman and then play more zone maybe 60/40 zone to man defense ratio. seems they try to play mostly man defense and we just don’t have the athletes to do that at least zone will hide some of the bad coverage skills or the youth or whatever it is it’s plague in Miami the confusion that’s on the coaches where the players confused and aren’t communicating properly if you do poorly and you’re gonna do it poorly in the games?
