I can't believe this was 10 years ago! Full credit to Wakelin for the way he handled what must have been a very unsettling situation. It's testament to his good play on the day that Lynch felt he had to resort to trying to intimidate his opposite.
@MultiAmbivalent10 жыл бұрын
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
@MultiAmbivalent8 жыл бұрын
Well Lynch appears to try and bash him into submission rather than play him straight up. The fact he didn't get a single kick on the day would appear to confirm that.

Tom Wright Why reply to me? Port Adelaide did a bunch of videos recalling that day of the grand final, hence me saying "these recalls". I don't for one second think than Lynch is a thug, but he was that day and the story was told in this video. This is a PAFC video, so don't go expecting to hear how great Brisbane were on that day. Take your antagonism to the AFL if you think Port has done anyone wrong.

Lynchy always had it out for the Wakelin Twins. Just watch the Collingwood grannies and even the 2001 qualifier when he got done for striking. Remember he would also often go berserk on the umps if things didn't go his way. But to be fair, intimidation tactics were always part of the Lion's modus operandi and they had selected enforcers like Alistair (probably the dirtiest, off ball), Browny, the Scott twins, Johnson, Voss, Pike etc. to play to their strengths, while they also had a balance of classy, silky, 'angelic' players who would exploit a flustered opposition, exhibit a: Simon Black. On this day the trademark bullies finally got bullied, something no other team could pull off when it mattered...pretty honourable

Wakelin seems like a pretty timid character, wouldnt last long in the bygone era, imo nothing wrong with lynch insinuating violence out on the field, theres a reason brisbane were a champion team, they were ruthless and if you couldnt stand up to them than you had little chance of winning. Lynch was done for the day and he knew it, he lost control for 20 seconds and would live to regret it. wakelin seems affronted with what happened, get over it mate you won the game these things can happen especially with so much at stake.
@billwhite97037 жыл бұрын
