This game has been through a long and sometimes troubled development but it is finally getting in to a really good place. Ankama might not be the best company for their international audiences but they are tenacious thats for sure. Supporting these games for 10+ years with active development. Worth investing time in imo

veteran player here. here's a small but usefull tip when you have alts, you can drag and drop the inventory of your other characters in your group to make trading easier. in the inventory just drag the tab that are represented by your alts faces.

@@MarleMMO on and off for 10+ years. I have a level 176 pandawa, level 170+ eliotrope and sacrier and more XD. I could never bring myself to get to level 200 and now level 230 though.

Cool, Wakfu was always a game I looked at but never really gotten into until recently. So it's nice to see people are still covering it to this day since it really does seem like a fun game.

Man I remember playing Wakfu USA (maybe NA or international?) during the closed beta, back in I think it was 2011 or so. Was such a fun game back then! I also played open beta. During closed beta I think I gotten to about level 60ish and open beta about level 50ish. Got into some pvp with this one famous guy named hooks, he was a Sadida. He kicked my ass but he was much higher level then I.

i remember hooks! i quit around 2013 but i was there from launch. he was a fire sac from brakmar who always looked for beef. my core memory from this game was when i was the first one to main a fire feca and i pvp'd him with all of the other popular players watching. i had this ability that flipped my damage and resistance so i was blocking all his attacks which was dope but after 6 turns my ability wore off and i got 1 shot. that's literally the only memory i have of this game.

I played it too, but I think it was the open beta if they ever had one. Back then I was so young I didn't know what a beta was and suddenly I couldn't play again. It was so disappointing finding out you needed a subscription to play it 😆

If wakfu is like dofus, when you kill only one kind of monsters too much, their population will dwindle and be considered endangered species in the game. They can go extinct too.

Has extinction actually happened in Wakfu? Would that be subject to griefing?

@@MarleMMO Yup it has. And, I also saw someone complaining on wakfu subreddit about tree specie extinction from people cutting down certain trees and not replanting them. Been years now, so I’m not sure what went extinct by the time you went into wakfu to make this video that is unless players repopulate the animals or replant the trees, etc.

In beta that was a thing too... noone cared on planting them and most ppl was stasis ... i was wakfu side ... now the game is toooooooootaly diferent

yeah i played few years at beta long time ago... 1x burning spear shot which did 600dmg was op back then... now you make so high numbers instantly! i woiuld like to see a video of its current state from the view of a player who plays is 8 years or so

If you delete every char in your account the game counts the new characters incoming as new players so the first one cant skip the tutorial ^^

Ayyy, Wakfu! The less popular younger brother of Dofus. Easy to learn, difficult to master, imo. I play Eniripsa and Masqueraider if you want to team up sometimes.

As far as I get the meta (fellow newbie here) Cra: Best ranged DPS (when it comes to constant damage, burst damage I think the Xelor can get the upper hand with the right build, but is pretty weak half the time compared to the Cra.) Osamodas: will literally get a revamp to their gameplay mechanics tomorrow on march 29 so we'll have to wait and see what improved and what changed about them, previously they were a good range AoE class as well as a summoner/buffer class (their main deal is their AoE spells dealt damage to enemies while also placing buffs/healing their summons if caught in the AoE being a great way to attack and buff at the same time) Sadida: they are mainly a support class with high survivability in the game being able to heal as well as put armor on themselves & others, can also function in solo with their ability to summon an endless army of voodoo dolls to fight on their behalf (although it makes combat rather slow so not many like these class for solo-leveling.)

@@MarleMMO Happy to help! as it comes with characteristics that's abit more...personalized honestly (depends on the build you want to make and the class of the character) but as far as solid advice that EVERY class can benefit from gets I can say: 1) Intelligence: always max Elemental Defense (get it to 10/10) to make your characters as sturdy as possible. 2) Agility: if you want to PvP always max initiative so you go first and thus have the upper hand, if you're more interested in PvE then max Willpower (initiative doesn't matter much if you're just fighting mobs and willpower helps you with magic that has a % chance to remove AP/MP from the enemy as well as resisting such debuff yourself.) Everything else depends on the class and build you have in mind :D

@@MarleMMO HP is a must-have and where you dump every other point after you got the basic things your build needs covered, Barrier is abit of a noob's trap because is good, but is never a good idea to max it: Barrier reduces some of the damage you take from attacks per round, the trick is that how much it reduces depends on your character's level and every time you put a point in barrier it's essentially the number of hits it'll "shield" you from per round (i.e: if i have a Barrier of 3 it means that for the rest of the round it'll reduce the damage from 3 hits i receive, the moment i'm hit a 4th time i'll receive normal damage.) This is why I say is iffy, if you raise it too much there's a good chance you're wasting points that could go into getting more HP to have better survivability (I think the ones that make the most out of barrier are Sacrier and other melee tank builds that know they're going to get hit alot, and even then i've never seen anyone take it higher than 5, most people settle with 3 or 4 barrier points.)

Unfortunately the game is full of things or requirements that are not explicitely written in the game and that players need to solve themselves. Don't get me wrong I love the game, and those last few years probably have been the best for the game ever, but, for example, if you ever try to understand every one of your spells in details you will have questions on some of them that will require testing from yourself on a dummy or someone very knowledgeable. Also, a lot of more or less little technical issues similar or not as the one you found when entering your HB, with the music not fading fast enough. Other than that, as you noticed, the game is full of little details that make the charm of the game, and the community is very helpful. And when I say those last two-three years have been he best for the game, here is what I mean : you would not have been able to ask in all chat for help, you would have been blined by the UI, the customisation possibilities for your character would have been very poor. And all that while the vast majority of the content has been towards levels 215 and 230. We are still waiting for ecoloical and political revamps, but we do hope they will come around someday, and that they would finally complete the game with its promises. Other than that, the gifts you got were from Wakfu's ten years anniversary ! One of the two dolls you got was one I had been wanting for a veeeeeeeery long time, so it was an amazing gift for me.

Thank you for the informative comment! You're exactly right in that I have /so/ many questions about skills/status/mechanics that the game doesn't properly explain. Regarding gifts/items, thank you for the explanation. "Linked" then is essentially "no-trade." I must have engaged in the 10 year anniversary and forgot about it! Perhaps I saw a stream or codes on Reddit that I used. :) I presume you're a Wakfu veteran?

I haven't played a lto of end-game, but I've been playing for several years now, so I'm probably a veteran now ? For the anniversary you only needed to log in a certain period of time, so it is perfectly normal you got them without knowing how :D If you have any question many people including myself will be happy to answer, be it on discord, in game or here in the comments, so don't hesitate to ask.
