Your video is great... *but* your voice is very squeaky, and you speak as if you have a hot potato in your mouth. This can make it hard for non native English speakers to listen to you with ease.

I returned to Wakfu a pair of months ago, and i love how much it evolved, and how nice feels the new single account server. One of the things that made me leave the game, was how empty it felt after everyone started to say "sorry, my party is full by me and my other five me", something that happened in Dofus, which is... a thing because there you don't have alts, you have to create and boost at least 4 accounts... Now, i didn't even care to throw my progress (jobs, lvl, outfits, etc...) to start again, because it feels so fresh and fun, like playing again an RPG you like. And AS I KNOW, Ankama wants to rework Astrub, which make sense if you compare their mercenary quests with, for example, Amakna ones. And well, the old man roof you are supposed to break. Anyway, tutorial isn't the best for my personal taste. I think the "STOP THE GAME TO SHOW YOU PICTURES AND A LOT OF TEXT" isn't the best way to tell someone how to play. The tutorial design itself does a good work actually. And well, the combat tutorial it's... too rushed? most of things you learn there aren't necessary at all in the early game, so you will forget probabbly. They could use Gultar, or even the Rok island to get battle tips bit a bit. I think they could improve fishing and mining, because those jobs feels slow, and just ONE person gathering the same as you can make it disgusting. And... thats kinda all the bad things i can say the game without thinking much. The rest is pretty neat, and community is amazing. And just to bring balance, the things i most like about the game. Classes: they are UNIQUE, they have personality, and you can build them in more than a way, so even two persons with the same class can be totally different. Economy: Jobs are fun, i think most of my playtime i was just in my garden taking care of my trees. I love how most of the best equipment, the food to heal, and other tools were made you or another player, and you are selling or buiying all that in a players market. Make the worls feels very vivid. Combat: i like how well all is designed around dungeon and bosses, at least the ones i played (im lvl 147). I dont know how is the end game, but in Dofus something i started to dislike is how things like "you did a thing, YOUR WHOLE PARTY IS DEAD", or even, bosses without a single hint of how you can damage them, not to mentions all class must be ranged because even tanks are dead in front of a boss. And well.. i heard this wasn't fixed, but i really don't know, i dont play since 2017. Anyway... even with a CONSIDERABLE smaller community, this game is for me, the perfect modernization of Dofus. And god, sorry for the long bible, and if are some mistakes in writing. its ... a thing talking in english about a game where almost everything have a different name in each language.

A bit late, but most familiars are pretty useless. There are a few exceptions though. At low levels, the Frost Mephit has damage reduction and regen, meaning it can actually tank for you. Panthers are decent if you know how to use corner sneaking. They aren't good in a fight, but you can use their stealth to spy on players when you posses them. They can also travel to different locations while possessed and you won't travel with them. This means even if they are caught, you aren't in danger. Just your familiar is. The best familiar however, hands down, is the pixie. You won't use this in combat at all, but instead use it as a pocket rogue. It can pick locks and disable traps. You will generally tell it to hold position and then fetch it when you need it, so it stays out of combat.

I play EQ LIve, off and on, these days to get a "feeling" of nostalgia but it never comes close to the old days. The game is just so different nowadays. I've switched computers to Apple machines because I simply had enough of Windows current day crap...patches undoing many settings you make...buggy patches that totally bork your machine...ect...I've had enough! I'm still looking for a way to play EQ Live on my iMac M3, but it looks like I'll need to wait because of the x86 cpu's differences with the ARM cpu architecture. Their is a Dev tool some people use for other games, but I'm waiting for it to mature. I'm done tinkering with my machines these days. I'm too old and just want things to "work". Apple computers, in spite of a few shortcomings, work best overall in this regard. BTW....who here remembers farming Hill Giants in Frontier Mountains only to discover that a rogue had been pick pocketing the plat from your groups giants before they died for like the past hour! Gggrrrrr!!....just thinking of that memory makes me want to....Aaaahhhh!!....do not nice things...ROFL! Good times though. hahaha

I had a bunch of great gear and found a brand new player with their first character and gave them everything I had and told them to pay it forward someday. I had been playing for about 5 years at that point and went off to college and decided it was time to log off forever, so I gave it all away. They were worried I'd be back the next day, but for once in my life it felt like it was time to let it go. I remember playing this game before school, almost being late for the bus trying to sell some dragon balls in the market place. I also met some great people and we teamed up to become one of the top 3 groups on the server. Being 14 at the time, I had no idea what I had been apart of until now, 20 years later. Great stuff, lots of nostalgia.

Even this many years later I still have vivid fond memories of this game. The developers and the community in this game were amazing and helpfull even back then, and it offered a unique atmosphere and experience that I havent experienced since. I'm tempted to delve back into it again to see how much it has changed after not having touched it for atleast 15 years.

So i reintalled LOTRO this week after 5 years AFK. Feels like coming back to childhood, exaclty what i ve wanted now. A game where i can play and feel relaxed same time. Regarding the game, yes: it is mandatory they invest in the game and update it's features including engine/graphics and all other because it will run into major problems down the road. Only a few are loyal to this game but after some time, those will disappear as well. Worst case scenario is that they sell the whole game to another company with the budget to work on it. Though, it would be nice for them to take action asap. All this aside, i still enjoy the game now as much as i did 10 years ago. 👍

the code is spaghetti, which is why lag can and will get to a point where the game becomes unplayable. if that wasn't the case, i'd rate lotro 8/10. but since this issue will never be adressed, it's a 5/10.

Some of my friends and I were beta testing it in 2006/2007 and started to play from the launch in spring 2007. However, majority of things required a group back then and it all took lots of time, so although the world (that was rather small back then) was awe inspiring, then trying to align the playtimes and find the time needed for the game, became more and more difficult and started to feel like a chore. So, we stopped playing about a half a year after the launch, playing other games instead. (We all had experience in EQ, DAoC, WoW and more games already). I returned to the LOTRO in autumn 2019 and found it much more enjoyable. It is like a massive storybook. You are not pushed to do anything you do not want to do, you have freedom to choose your own path, if you do not have any time to log in to the game for a few weeks or a few months even, you do not lose anything (except some of your mail sometimes) and even when you have just 20 minutes, you can get something done. You do not have to grind. You are not forced to spend real money (unless you really want to and it feels worth it). You can just ride around and admire the world. Btw, one French hobbit reached the max level by solely baking pies. Or you can focus on refurbishing your houses. Interesting that the long time player said that the SSG does not promote player content. I see the community manager often letting us know what player organised festivals, celebrations, parties are going on plus there are weekly discussions, developer talks, and so on. How can she miss that all? Moreover, the developers actually listen to the players and take it on board. There is also a dedicated RP portal, there are rewards and game codes distributed by the LOTRO bloggers etc. The music system is lovely. You can play manually but also can use midi files and process these (there are apps for it) to create the files needed for your instruments and there is a plugin that will then play the chosen instrument for your (or you can synchronise the plugin with others or your alts on other accounts and have a band performance). I actually like the new Legendary weapons. In the old system much more grind was involved and a strong element of lottery (that could be very frustrating), the new system allows you to be much more in control and once you level, your weapons come several times more powerful than the old system Legendary Weapons. I guess many people do not like changes... :) As the community is rather tight knit and supportive, whenever there is an influx of new players, it is felt. Some people fit in and some people can be rather awful (with a mentality of Black Desert Online players -- the most toxic community I have ever experienced). Luckily the ones who are not a good fit either adjust their attitude or stop playing.

Great video and reflects a lot of the game and how it really is. World is amazing, stotyline on top of Tolkien's heart. One thing that might scare new players is the LOTRO is not an easy game, at all. Besides the map that is massive and sometimes challenging to get from A to B, the massive amounts of quests and deeds that seem impossible to finish all, there is so much to know in depth to play solo and group content that you have to invest quite some time to really understand what's going on and what you have to do. I have a small Kin where we get players ready to move on to a raid Kin, we invest time to explain everything step by step based on level (I have roughly 30 chars on my account and about 3.5 years of /played combined) but given the amount of info, lots of players find it hard to remember. After reaching the old caps (50-65-75) they login less. The ones that do sit through 60%logs in less starting 100-130 and even less make it to cap. We help, pull, explain, assist in crafting gear, do group content with them (with an on lvl char not to make it too easy), use Discord, have nights where we just talk about all day things, but somehow they loose interest in the game. Good thing is that they never forget us and check in every now and then on Discord for a chat or on voice. Community is awesome, lots of nice peeps willing to explain, have knowhow and are just cool people. Edit: added the massive amount of contentl quests and deeds.

14:59 I used to play DDO when it first came out in 2008, the "Treasure is in the chest" gimmick is a nod to the style of editions previous to 3.5 where the loot wasn't on monsters but in the chest at the end of a dungeon ( being a primarily dungeon based game). Also when the game was buy to play there wasn't any re roll button.

As an original player who still logs from time to time, i can safely say you ended at a good note. ToTW is a required area for everyone due to 4 key items practically all players need, but are guarded behind 4 equally massive bosses. After that? You would have had to find your way to the steps of madness which is also convoluted to a new player, get the last item all players need to progress at that level, and then you would have been ready for the 3rd real dungeon. OT mines, which scales in difficulty practically every room. Loot however becomes something that will take the broken currency system and make you a part of it however, as most items sell for hundreds of thousands just at an NPC vendor, which is what i've always considered the real start of the game, as you've gotten a credit farming area that lets you buy all of those nice implants that make you OP early game. Being able to say you could solo Abmouth (Abby in chat) used to be, and is still pretty big bragging rights due to just how complex the beginning phases are.

@@MarleMMO It's always been Lv 60 for me, at bare minimum. Level cap is 220, and 60 leaves a lot of room to abuse trader buffs (wrangles, which we used to sell as a service), med buffs, and put on that medical suit to use those OP implants while under-leveled, as it doesn't remove or de-buff them if you suddenly "don't meet the reqs". To add, another part that the game carried was giving guilds their OWN CITY. Like, full on "defend your city" status with massive battles, towers to defend, etc. Anarchy Online is still to this day, the most complex MMO ever created when playing right. If you ever re-visit this game? I'd be glad to give you a tour of the deeper areas like the mines. Least i can do. Us Weyland Yutani's are kinda known for showing people around and knowing the game's complex mechanics lol.
