There was an idea. To bring together a group of (less than) remarkable blasters. To see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to fight the Nerf battles that we never could. I’m WalcomS7, founder of Fuzzy Walrus Industries. I’m here to introduce you to the TAG BACK initiative.

I watched this whole video over the course of 2 days. And honestly dude, we need another tag back comp in 2024. I just found your videos like 3 weeks ago and have been cycling through. I'm not super into nerf, but I am into Star Wars and I didn't know there were so many Star Wars Nerf Blasters. I've collected a few so far over the last month or so to use in actual wars in the back yard with my wife and I even modified like 5 of them so far. I even lucked out and got a Nerf branded Foam blade builders light saber for free!! Love all the new and old content. Thanks Walcom. You, Coop, the Captain, Dr. Flux and even Luke have all made this hobby what it is today it seems along with the community. Hope you have a great holiday!

Growing up in the 90s I had the Nerf Razorbeast and it was my favorite blaster back then, discovering the Vulcan as an adult in the 00s brought me into modern Nerf blasters, and at nearly 40 I still enjoy the heck out of them, especially when I cannot go plink real steel like I use to. I"m a bit of an old man, and oh, you can't know how happy it makes me to see people discovering and enjoying the toys of my own youth, I remember coveting the Ballzooka when it came out, even though I was slightly old for the Nerf target market. I love the looks and sophistication of modern Nerf guns, and I love the fact they're putting accessory rails on and things, but there's a real charm to the classics too. I feel like Nerf themselves were more experimental as well, willing to use unusual form factors and odd-looking blasters which have now been relegated to the enthusiast hobby space.

It really is a statement for the Vulcan that I remember seeing commercials for it back in a time when I didn't know any of these things. I may've never seen Nerf guns, I may've never had stores that had these things... Yet I knew about the Vulcan. This video is lovely, I have rewatched it a good couple of times, it's a great perspective into a time and toy ecosystem that I never had a part in, and now that I do, I am more hyped than ever for the future. Thanks for all the service for the hobby, Walcom!

In my experience, most left-handed people are used functioning in a right-handed world. My oldest son favored his left hand when he was very young. We intentionally played with him and interacted with him in ways that he had to use both hands equally. He turned out to be right handed, but he uses both hands almost equally well, just like Dad.

Still brightens my day seeing it since we weren't exactly well off and these things costs an arm and leg thanks to import taxes and how weak our currency is in general against USD. Thanks for mentioning LARPing specifically here! It's nice to be acknowledged as a demographic; most reviewers are competitive-focused and what works well there is just... not needed in a setting where half of your encounters with enemies begin in standoffs between theatre nerds who LOVE an opportunity to be dramatic instead of efficient. Who needs a 60 ft range when all your encounters start face-face after a monologue? The Strikefire was my intro into larping with nerf. My brother gave me all his old blasters when I went to my first zombie game, and deciding that I only needed a sidearm since it incorporated melee pretty well. I painted it up to have beautiful woodgrain, tarnished steel, and copper fasteners, which wasn't exactly sensible in a realism sense but it still looked nice. After seeking more out, I now have three total. One of them is still unpainted, and the other has a much simpler paintjob and grungy wash to loan out to new players at the post-apoc game I play. It's never taken over the roughcut and strife we keep on the team shelf, but it has an undeniably charming look that we like to keep around.

1:23:56. Yep, I remember that time. Especially in the late 80's, there was plenty of gross-out themed toys: Creepy Crawlers, Mad Balls, Inhumanoids, Toxic Crusaders, and of course Garbage Pail Kids. I remember TMNT toy charactors like Mutagen Man, Muckman & Joe Eyeball all employed the human + toxic-waste mutation gimmik. For me as a kid, these toylines were cool because they was so playfully edgy. Good memories!

On the packaging it specifically said to not look directly at the lights when they flashed. Not only did the darts glow in the dark the paint around the muzzle was pretty visible at night as well. And the magazine was just as hard to find back then as it is now. Man I loved that blaster.
