What i really like is that this isn't just a lazy reskin, it's based on a prop, has damn good range for being one (since it's in the pro line), feels "in character", since i could definitely see a tranquilizer gun in the universe looking like this (amber mosquito stock not withstanding), and while it does have the premium price tag of 65, you'd know damn well nerf would've made this 85 dollars, or more, with less effort put into it.

The painted design is an amber effect. Took me a bit to figure it out....dont push the "mando" fork on too far it will latch. Unless you want to keep it on.

I'm going to predict that Dart Zone will make a shotgun. And I mean, Dart Zone Blaster that uses shells that hold 3 darts in one shell, has a mag tube, and works like an actual shotgun. THis will probably never exist, but i can dream, right?

Drac was getting readings upwards of 130 FPS with half lengths, sooo...I'd say it kinda is. He speculated that it's not hitting 150+ like the Nexus because the barrel's shorter.

It's actually a peephole sight. You need slide the front attachment back and forth to adjust for distance to the target.

I know there are mod kits for the Saturn and the Takedown, but they're just so expensive. @_@ I go to thrift-stores every couple weeks in hopes of maybe one day stumbling across a Sentinel.

X-Shot has Dino Attack NERF gave us Dinosquad Now this... 'Jurassic Pro' does have a nice ring to it! And I was wondering when the Pro line would get a bolt action blaster. Although, I was hoping for a more Garand or Remington- esque set up with the bolt itslef, further back and closer to the trigger for easier use. Still, looks pretty nifty! Very good and informative review!

you might want to review how you're resting the blaster on your rifle stand, because it looks like the barrel bends upwards quite significantly when you do.

For the prime, I wonder if it's much more stable if you're priming with your off hand rather than taking your hand off the grip? That would give another point of stabilization and may keep it from bending. That'd be my personal preference at least. I also wonder if that long faux barrel it comes with hinders performance at all? I can't imagine it makes a huge difference, and it looks much better with it, but it might help out a few of the accuracy hiccups.

To me, it doesn't really matter as much since with the bolt handle placed so far forward you're forced to take the blaster off your shoulder (or point it up and taking it off target) to cycle anyway. Think of Mosin-Nagant pattern rifles, which force the user to disengage off the stock to cycle. In which case, stability in the front would be more beneficial in pulling the prime back, as opposed to pushing the prime into your firing hand with awkward placement.

If not for the wobbly/jank stock I would be more sold personally. I think the bolt action is amazing, and it's something that needs to continue in springers in the hobby. If I can get a bolt action on a nexus or a stryker, that would be awesome.

My only gripe is that they didn't put a rifle scope on it. I mean, the Kobra sight is awesome, but it pains me that there isn't something like an ACOG sight. That's really my only complaint though.

Really digging your test setup. Thanks for using fresh darts. If it becomes too much of a burden I hope you feel comfortable enough to ease up on that. If you could borrow one of those other types of chronographs where you shoot over the thing, could you do fps and accuracy simultaneously? Save on darts and correlate the accuracy to fps maybe?

I noticed the faux barrel was bending while it was on the rest during testing. I wonder if that affected the accuracy much by darts possibly hitting the bottom of the barrel before exiting?

You can actually see the barrel bending when he rests on the rest. Doesn't help the grouping I suppose. Edit: really needs a different stock. Would love a thumbhole stock. And a sniper barrel that is more stable, has a scar and a stabilizer(for the looks) at the end.

you can see the barrel bending when you rest it on the bench rest. you should rest it on the frame of the blaster instead of the barrel. probably affected your accuracy tests.

Hey Walcom! Great review! Definitely has me pumped for more pro blaster crossovers. One minor problem I saw with your target shooting is that when you placed the blaster on the rest, you were bending the barrel upwards slightly since the connection between the barrel and blaster isn’t one solid piece. You potentially gave yourself a misleading accuracy result! Still though. Keep up the good work!

My friend, who is not even "into Nerf" is excited for this as he is a fan of Jurassic Park old movies and the new ones (even with the clone nonsense of the last one), and that series Camp Cretaceous. It took Dart Zone Max a year to get to us (it just got here this year back in January) so I didn't promise my friend if it would be available here anytime soon. Hopefully it would get here at least in time for the movie release.

i like these imitiation blasters. to be honest soldier 76 was my favorite after i modded it to take a lithum battery. the lights and movement really get me going to the point i added a tri laser system to turn on when i rev the rifle. they should do more like that. nerf can just make the shells and i just rewire them.

Friend of mine had a similar problem with his old Recon CS-6 back in the day, in regards to the entire Blaster bending due to the flimsy shoulder stock. His solution? Basically 3D printing a shoulder stock reinforcement so it's strong as can be.

I think some of those outliers were from the barrel rest your using. I notice as you were pulling it down to anchor the barrel in the rest the barrel was bending upward. I would take that long barrel off and test again.

I broke the gun down as far as I could and painted the body and grey stock pieces green, the hand grip, trigger, orange stock, sights, box mag and charging handle black and the barrel silver. Left the tip orange for cosplay. The pickatinny rail under the barrel was part of the original prop too. I took the taser tip and repainted it silver and copper and used a piece of PVC pipe and the grip from a cheap Ball Blaster from 5 Below and made a taser gun
