That was a lot of work for making a flame! But as usual, success in the end! We were all cheering you and Susanne on! Yes, those knives are nice! I just got a nice knife this week, a Case XX HB6391 from 1992! New in box and will be cherished, but never used! Good to seeing you guys having fun!

Super video. Similar happened to me with different natural rope. My lesson was: don't assume and remember to test before needing it. I had some sisal rope, 1cm thickness, as a summer quick tinder (each section cut, 7-10cm lengths for kit, each ok to make 1 nest). It worked really well taking sparks from ferro rod. I bought some more and used it first this year in August (not totally dry weather but not too bad humidity), wouldn't ignite on its own (slowly smouldered and consumed itself, but. no flame). No matter if gentle blowing into it or hard, or fanning with hand in case it was humidity. Eventually, after using a good few sections with same result, pulled out cotton face pads and vaseline from kit to use as the starter. Maybe its different material, not as combustible into flame, sold same name. I was glad I had other options. Now this demo shows it def the rope selection. Huge ember (not just hot sparks from rod) and still took that much to ignite...

Great video Sepp and Susanne. Amazing that the ember got so big without igniting the cord. Thanks for posting.

👍👍👍 .. persistence pays 😊. Hi Guys .. it's nice seeing both of you again. 🌬 I was figuratively blowing for all I was worth while watching this post .. just to get that tinder to catch flame. Sepp, either, the tinder was overly damp .. or .. your partner in crime, V, soaked it in flame retardant beforehand, in order to take the mickey 😁. With your experience in fire lighting and judging by her expression while watching you, I doubt that it was the first 😏. 'Vasbyt' gets one there .. eventually .. Take care .. Tommy
