Really beautiful. I used to make lots of Waldorf dolls about 15 years ago. My faces were not sculpted, but it looks very interesting to make a sculpted one. I am going to check out your other videos and see if there is anything on sculpting the nose and cheeks and the stitches that need to be placed. Thank you for the explanation!

Your an amazing lady. Thank you for such encouraging words. By the way, your English is better than many American's! Lol Even I have a hard day saying the right words. Now with needle felting dolls, I agree about the level of difficulty. Felting fingers, toes and limbs including faces with different characteristic looks can be challenging for a beginner. Having clay under your belt helps but I find inn reality, even though both help with each craft, there are still many differences that can still be challenging. For me with clay, my hands warm up the clay too much too quickly. With clay, I can use a blade to remove accidents, but with felting, I have used extremely pointed sharp scissors to cut away what I didn't like. But this is not something I recommend for everyone. Anyway, thresh you so much for helping me to create this style of doll and understand what I need to make it lol the way I wanted it to. (I couldn't get the tubing like what many use for the underneath part so I went and found a 12 pack of children's socks that are thin like the tubing, but just the right size to make small dolls and the price was about half. It was around 7 dollars to make basically 24 dolls. I can handle that! Now I'm off to make a doll! Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words. I totally agree with you. in fact felting a face is more difficult than with clay at least that is what i think. I love the way you use your creativity and find solutions if you have not acces to the material mentioned. That showes your mind works in finding solutions! That is great.

Thank you for your wonderful videos. I am enjoying learning from your very clear and detailed tuition. The dolls are beautiful and I have just completed my first face. I was so excited. it is quite pretty to my delight. I plan to make her a body now and can't wait to see her when she's finished. Janet

Thank you Astrid. I admire your work. I am intrigued by the felted faces on Waldorf dolls, but like you said the sweet basic Waldorf doll with a minimum of expression appeals so much to the young child especially since the proportions are lifelike, and the child can impart its own expression onto the doll based on how he/she is feeling. I also agree that it is a valuable experience to begin with the basic dolls and then to evolve toward the more detailed expressions like you are doing with the felted faces. Your instructions are superb! Alles liebe.

Hi Astrid, since felting is that hard to master, do you think there is a cheaper material that i can use instead of the wool, so i can make several heads and practice as much as possible the face sculpting. Let me known your thoughts. Thanks!!
@littledollhouse17796 жыл бұрын
Jacq Manzo hi Jacq, if you purchase 1kg of carded wool you could practice a lot. I must say i do not know of any other material that would work well. Kind regards Astrid
