Today we look how we can transfer the sound of a different synthesizer into the Iridium and turn a mono-synth sound into a poly-synth patch.

People balk at the price but it's clear this is probably the best digital synth made. I just got it and didn't realize how capable it was as a sampler. I would love to see Waldorf make an MPC like device. I bet it was be amazing. Their interfaces are so thoughtful. Amazing how fluid they made this incredibly complex device.

Also good to put the original sample pitch in the middle of the range. That way transposition is only half an octave up and down. Thanks for the great video.

This was very helpful! Thanks! Looking forward to more. I am somewhat put off by the usability of the interface or, workflow of the OS, in some situations, but the sound and power are overwhelmingly awesome.

Here to remind myself this has much better bang for your buck than an old monomachine that is tempting me on eBay!

Gut erklärt! Mehr davon. Erleichtert das Programmieren.

Can you import into one program 88 samples of a piano each sample representing a note of the 88 notes, and then set each sample to one of the 88 keys of the key range, so that the sound is as accurate as the source piano as possible? Thanks

Thank you for this one, great! Please go on with this tutorials. Happy New Year! btw....can the start and end points of the samples not be set using the touchscreen?
@cellrok3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Did not find a way to do that. :( But when you use one-shots you wouldn't need to set start and endpoints. I was just lazy and worked with a single recording of multiple pitches. Happy new year!

@@cellrok Thank you! You're right, it's easier the record one-shots. BUT......you can use the touchscreen, I just found out. Slide your finger over the Sample Start, Sample End or other value on the screen next to the encoders. Works brilliant.

Do you know if there is any plan to implement a warp mode like they have in ableton to the iridium sampler?

What happens with a sustained Key? Is the sample loopable? If yes, do you hear clicks or pops when It loops?
@cellrok3 жыл бұрын
1) it plays until the end of the sample. It's a stretched oneshot. That's why recording a prolonged sustained note yields the better results for those instances. But 2) yes, you can set loop points, but i haven't used them yet. 3) Not sure, but i think i saw something about zero-cross somewhere.. or perhaps it is handled automatically. Your last two question i will have to verify, but i am positive the iridium has it covered in some way. Sampling is a major part of the synth and has many specialised features in that area.

@@cellrok tyvm for your answer... Maybe the Iridium could be as nice alternative to the Nord Wave 2

You know what’s more annoying than not been able to scroll quicker? The fact that there’s a perfect amount of space for a shift button Under the screen knobs! Hopefully they find a solution with the next update.

As I mentioned in another video you made : No sample transfer over USB. No Digital I/O. Feels like sampling on the Iridium throws me back to my Akai S900 days...when was that again ?
@cellrok3 жыл бұрын
You can use USB storage media to transfer samples losslessly. I use a normal thumb drive. You could also use a SD card.
@bleekzaXXX3 жыл бұрын
You mean no sample transfer by connecting a “USB cable”? The only sampler I ever used to transfer samples that way was the Emax II via RS-422 cable. I guess the K2000S did something like that?

First thing I’m going to do is sample my sub37 and create a budget moog poly synth 😃

@@no_guarantees oh i ended up going with a prophet 12 over the iridium (& happy with the choice!), but i could try something similar on the asr10 .
