I love my Quantum, and this is near enough the same thing in desktop form. Im hearing the same thing with some of these presets, they're more of a showcase than actual useful/musical presets. Mostly far too crazy or busy to fit into a mix. I wouldn't let that put anyone off though. Take it as no more than a showcase of what it can do. The best part of this thing is creating your own sounds.
@samprock4 жыл бұрын
Full of hopes, thnx for sharing insides. What i hear ppl playing presets not exciting, but as soon as artful dude makes something, it starts shining.
@6581punk4 жыл бұрын
Problem is people expect amazingly deep synths for the money when they actually just want the sounds they like. This is why Dreadbox units have a big sweetspot as they know what their audience wants. Some of these big synth powerhouses are like Microsoft Word, people only use 10% of the functionality yet each person uses a different 10%
@BecomingProductions4 жыл бұрын
@Dinofo Yes trance sounds are usually pretty simple like supersaws and trance pads. This could do those with ease but also much more.
@BecomingProductions4 жыл бұрын
@Dinofo Its hard to say as they could all do trance sounds easily. It more comes down to what other types of sounds do you need? Peak+Pro3 will let you do a much more analog type sound than Iridium, but Iridium has all sampling and granular engines that Peak+Pro3 could never come near. Honestly trance sounds are quite basic for most synths, so I think you'll be able to do that no problem with whatever you chose.
@BecomingProductions4 жыл бұрын
@Dinofo Iridium can do a lot of what Peak can do if you only look on specs. I have a Summit and a Quantum and use them both side by side so I know a bit about these devices. The filter in Summit/Peak is its biggest strength and adds so much body to the sound. Quantum or Iridium won't ever sound quite as analog (even with Quantums actual analog filter, its just not the same as Summit's filter), but it can still sound great. Its just a different sound. However if I want something really unique sounding and want to really have fun with sound design then Quantum wins hands down. Its just endless options, and WAY more in depth wavetable engine than Peak/Summit. They're both incredible devices in their own way so really no bad choice here.

@magicknight84124 жыл бұрын
Like pretty much every video of synths, people just play a patch/preset for a few seconds and would love to hear a song or part of a song using them.
Yes make music please...for me its this new model Waldorf god only for more polyphony voices and more user friendly. This model is very god for non-creativ people...I don't like this new model. Old model synth by Waldorf is better.
@badstringstudio4 жыл бұрын
After spending some time with this synth, i cannot say i am impressed by the sound. Yes, synth looks gorgeous, there are tons of options, display is beautiful BUT it sounds like software. I share the same opinion for Prophet X. I just dont hear tightness in bottom end and warmth in midrange. Everything is way too sharp for my ears. The only modern synth i have tested and which really impressed me is still John Bowen Solaris.
@dbefore71654 жыл бұрын

This is what worries me….
@chrissneider75502 жыл бұрын
Sounds like 'software' ? what do you mean, it's 'software' with hardware routing, it's nothing more than that. The sound is no better than 'Omnisphere' for example, but they will sell anything to people, good name, good chassis and sold!!!!

@ActualKaktus2 жыл бұрын
I've owned mine for about 3 months, and I'm still only scraping the surface. It's capable of subtle and massive "wall of sound" type patches. It's a deep, challenging instrument that's easy to learn and tough to master. The sampler evolves it into an entirely different world, and kernel mode is nuts.
@chrissneider75502 жыл бұрын
all very nice, but good luck when you try to sit it in the mix, you will need a separate God to help you, the frequency curtain will prevent it...

What a great small peak into the iridium! Thanks for sharing! I can definitely see/hear the potential of this synth. The downside to the iridium I've seen so far is that although it's duo-timbral, it only has one set of stereo outs. That said, I may be getting this synth after reviews start coming in.

Well got mine (not from these guys in the USA) and after a few hours the left part of the screen started fading out, the screen became less responsive, the Particle button on Osc 1 was broken and the rest of the Osc buttons barely worked.
