I bought an iridium 15 months ago and I’m selling it. Everyone goes on and on about it being thus and that and so glorious. I decided it needed a keyboard. SO I BOUGHT THE IRIDIUM KEYBOARD! Those people are right IT IS ALL THIS AND TGAT AND GLORIOUS. It’s like an alien artifact! I was going to buy an ask hydrasynth delux and control the iridium desktop. The hydra sounds great. I sold my hydra to buy the iridium. It doesn’t come close! The iridium is truly incredible and Waldorf might be going bankrupt so my iridium keyboard might be a collector!

Well got mine and after a few hours the left part of the screen started fading out, the screen became less responsive, the Particle button on Osc 1 was broken and the rest of the Osc buttons barely worked. Sucks dropping almost $3k on a synth and having to return it after a few hours, and they aren't sure when I will get my new one either.

... and this is why i'm still hesitant to buy one. i was constantly reading all the horror stories on the Gearspace forum about the build quality on these. from wobbly/off centered buttons to the white screen of death. however, there are some customers that have had no problems at all with their units. unfortunately, there's no real good substitutes out there you could buy to recreate exactly what the Iridium is capable of.

As far as i heard in the sound demos i think it would be very suitable for psytrance because of its digital sound and its endless sounddesign capability. Think that makes it easy to mix it into a more complex arrangement. But for powerful acid leads it sounds too thin for my taste. Maybe adding some warmth and drive afterwards would be an option.

It has around 1.000 presets, and you can save 7.000 inside, or to save other on SD card. There's also 2GB built-in flash memory for samples.
