Lovely synthesizer... had one of these soon after they were released. Sold it when I bought an XTk a couple of years later. Sold the XTk when I gave up on music a few years later. Finally, bought another MWII a few months ago... one of my favorite synths ever and now I have it again... pure joy!

Hello, did you found the same quality of tone/sound on the MW2 compared to the XTk?

Great demo! At 3:40 the patch sounds like a roland alpha juno/mks-50 :)

It´s funny, I owned two Microwaves and bought two different Waldorf synths with wavetables afterwards, but none of them came close. They all sounded kind of muddy in comparison with the MW2. So I sold them. Waldorf should have developed the wavetable synthesis instead of just using it as another sound source.

love the microwave II,use it every time im in the studio,the paints coming off but its a beast:),i find myself using the mkII more than mkI,dont know why but its just quicker to edit maybe.

hey is it hard to program this synth??

Has a nice 80s analog roland sound to it. Sounds "dusty" the way I like. Damn, might have to get this. Which of the 90s waldorf racks are consiidered the best?
@retrosound72 Жыл бұрын
Yes. The best is the old microwave

Wow dud, I just realize this vid is 15 years old. Thanks! If I buy the synth I might have to get your patches if you still sell them. Do you think there are other 90s synths that can make a similar sound? Maybe nord lead and how much did the XT fx help creating the big sound here??@@retrosound72

I would say maybe consider the M, they can be found at resonable prices used at least compared to microwave 1.

Extraordinary clarity. I wonder if there's a VST for this. Thanks for the demo.

I know my Korg could do a lot of the sounds in this video with some creative programming, but I don't know about stereo panning- I'd have to do some research.

very useful, as usual :) a question: does the microwave1 sound good as this?
@eteokles316 жыл бұрын
i got myself a blofeld, which has some sounds that come close to the microwave. however the microwave is still king. i was wondering how much it is on ebay? thank you for the video!!!

great job with those patches. so, if i understand, you fed the mw into the audio in on the xtk to apply fx? i have been reading much about wt synthesis lately and experimenting heavily with a blofeld. i very much like the creamy filter characters incl ppg lp model and brilliance feature to give mw sheen to waves. nice with new wt start position mod destination after last update. excellent synth for this price. encoder input a bit buggy. but the sound it CAN achieve makes this a fine addition to
@floppy12k8 жыл бұрын
you can clean the encoders VERY easily. you just need to open the unit up and remove the front pcb. Try to google microwave II encoder problem and theres some pictures of the whole process
