OMG wonderful and soothing. Thanks for this new gem. Great Bowie track. So subdued. Not sure I knew it was with Pat Metheny or maybe just forgot - was waiting for 1:53. Now I need to go research what synths they used on this track in 1985. Knowing Lyle Mays was involved def points to OB. Some reports say LINN, others say "a Roland drum machine".

Your comment: Takes me back to the summer of 1985. Great track from Bowie. Love your version and glad you put that little bit of highlight synth part in. Once again just love seeing these synths come together to play an absolute classic track. As I always say you're a very talented musician and love your demos. Thank you

Great rendition of this absolute classic track! - Can I ask, is it definitely a Moog Source on the original? I know Lyle Mays was using OBX, but didn't know he used a Source as well.... and the part the Source is playing at 1 min 53 secs - the kind of horn part - is that a preset on the Source or did you dial that sound in? If you designed it could you describe the patch, it sounds so good!
@retrosound724 күн бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. I use the Source only for bass and the short lead/ horn arpeggio. All other sounds are from the OB-X. I use here no presets. All sounds are self programmed for the video. For the sound I have used a Pulse wave and short attack. The Source is perfect for this sound.

It was the thumbnail of the original OBX that led me here. Fitting that you should include the OB-Xk as the controller for the piano sample. Not bad at all, RS. That rhythm sounds like it could’ve came from a TR-626. How far off am I?
