This song runs so deep to me because I remember being clowned for wearing some payless shoes in the 6th grade then I stepped my game up and started rocking all the name brand shoes and that's when the hate started. People clown you when you ain't got the latest and then hate on you when you got it. We live in a society that values material things and when you work hard to get the things you want its some fuck ass hater that wanna take it from you.

Because after Attention deficit, he released 2 subpar LPs. And his best project ever, More About Nothing, is a Mixtape and not an album. And note, this is his Best LP, but being one of the best takes consistency. That's something he hasn't displayed since he got signed to a major. And at this point, I don't see him surpassing Cole or Kendrick, but if he can continue to make music like he did on Attention Deficit, More About Nothing and The Album About Nothing, then maybe he'll get the praise. But one of the best ever? Probably not.
@TheCleveland839 жыл бұрын
Ok, then that only further proves my comments to be accurate. He was inconsistent with the content and he suffered for that. So being the best ever isn't even up for discussion.
@TheCleveland839 жыл бұрын
Kendrick hasn't been consist? Overly Dedicated, Section 80, GKMC, TPAB. if that isn't consistent, then Idk what is. And the reasons why Pac and Big are legendary is because of how many people they influenced in such a short period of time. And they both really had something to say. They were also flat out better rappers than wale will ever be, but that's another discussion for another time.

I feel really bad for people that work hard for something because they can't afford it and then it ends up getting stolen because of jerks, what a world we live in. We hate and judge others because we feel like they are above others, especially when we are struggling too. This is real deep, saying the valuable things in life are only what we make of it. It is portraying that shoes are just shoes, and not something you should die for.

Wale is extremely underrated. I discovered his true artwork on display during the release of "Ambition." That album spoke volumes, it had the creativity of multiple artist compacted into one artist. This album is in great comparison to the "Ambition" album, it offers a story line only a few fortunate souls may identify and articulate within minutes. The album starts off with his recognition being undermined and working hard for the accolades from those around him. The first song offers a undertone of a love story, with the true nature of him searching for admirations. The album ends with a love song, bringing everything back into full circle. I feel everyone should give this album a full thorough listen before coming up with an opinion about it; opinions change when taking each song for face value! Great job Wale, please continue to bless the music world with valuable works of art. -Erica (Houston, Tx)

This album is fucking crack! I was shock! I mean literally. HANDS DOWN BEST PROJECT since "More about nothing" mixtape 2010. This is the Wale that I know. The nigga literally got back to basics and the roots and key essential things that make him great. And that is making poetic songs, abstract concepts and creativity, incredible production and engineering, and last but not least JERRY SEINFIELD white azz lol. But real talk. I'm not a Wale fanatic, but I respect his craft.Especially when he make tracks dedicated towards women. I know he doesn't like to to get labeled in that reference or style, but that his best niche and best songs.

I truly relate to this and I know what it's like to get played out because my sneakers ain't the latest. When I was in elementary school, my popz bought my first pair of Jordans and kids that never talked to me or showed me love acted like they knew me just because I had Jordans on. As I got older, I realized being me is what made different, so keep doing it. That was my only pair the J's so far but from middle school to now, my shoe game was always on point. They wasn't Jordans but they still got everybody's attention. I understand Jordans ain't the only kicks to rock plus everybody wearing them.

Halloween 2023 - This song still is a underrated classic! Wale is an underrated artist! He actually came up through the DMV culture and was out here everywhere amongst the people and became one of the more talented artists in the entire industry while talking his DMV slang and staying true to himself. This is how he was able to create classics such as this! ❤
