What I really love about my country is the immense variety of bread and brötchen ;-) I mean, I have visited the US a couple of times and now I appreciate German bread even more! But there are many European countries with very lecker bread like for instance France, Italy, and Romania. But I hate Weihnachtsmärkte, because they are nothing else but a commercial thing. Your videos are nice!

When someone asks me "Do you like my dress?" or "Do you like my new haircut?" I am always surprised. It's not important if I like it. I like it if people feel free to do and wear what they like. I like people having an individual style even if I do not like the style. So if I would never wear a dress doesn't mean you shouldn't. I can answer the question " What do you think this dress says about me?" And I can tell and the person decides if she/he likes it. Or if I really know somebody I can say if a dress fits her style. I think this German directness is because we were trained to not judge the entire person on one issue (religion, color of skin, addiction, sexuality, wealth....). So if I tell someone that I do not like one small aspect of what she does, wears or is that does not mean that I do not like the person or that I think less of her/him. If she asks she's interested in my opinion. Because she's unsure. So I help her to make up her mind.

@@frostedgraves6059 1.The school buildings are in bad shape(+ extreme hygene problems at least before corona like no soap in the bathrooms or even mold in the bathrooms). 2.there is noise due to construction work basically all the time. 3. some teachers suck at teaching. 4.your teachers change quite often because they give you a teacher who is still in training and fails at teaching you anything which results in your grades getting worse and you not learning anything and wasting your time. 5. you can't learn many things that are not part of the government given curriculum. Sadly, I went to a school like that.

I loved the video. I am German and currently living in Paris. It is so refreshing to hear positive aspects about Germany, and while I think education still depends on parents' money (can you afford a tutor if your child sucks in school? or children expected to go to university and then maybe get a well-paid job vs low income families who are satisfied if their kid passes basic education and then gets a lower paid job) I see how privileged we are because every child must go to school and learn.

You're more flexible and usually significantly faster with a car but you don't necessarily need it in big cities or in order to visit other cities. The weakest points of public transportation are rural villages and nighttime.

Whenever I watch a video about living in Germany, almost always the issue of law-abiding citizens comes up, most likely followed by how Germans lecture tourists and other non-abiding people not to cross streets when the trafic lights show red. What I miss, though, is why Germans do that: For one thing, if a person crosses a street when the traffic light is red, insurances will not pay for that individual in case of an accident because of a "joint guilt" of the pedestrian. Should said pedestrian also have a driver's license, he/she might also face extra punishment, including "points" in Flensburg on their drivers license. Why? Because of their drivers license they ought to know the laws and regulations and have to obey by them. Also, crossing a street at a red light as an adult sets bad examples for kids.

Of course, it can be better in some details, but also the current COVID-10 crisis shows us, that living in Germany isn't a bad choice. Germany is the best country on the world. There's no country on this world which is as much multicultural and assimilated with the country and native culture as Germany. It depends on how rural the country side is. When you are at "end of the world" village everyone who is different (skin pigmentation, culture, language, clothing, bodymass or behaviour) is a kind of circus attraction. In a rural area close to a "international town" where more or less everyone - except some old families living there since centuries - has a different cultural background. They will recognize you and otherwise don't care. In (bigger) Cities it is common for germans to see people from all over the world, so nothing special and absolutely no attraction at all (except some looks from men when you are beautyfull or from woman when you wear some exotic clothes).

There's a certain irony to universal education and several other things. It started out fairly militaristic and later played into capitalist hands quite nicely. Just to make it clear !!!!!: Education in Germany is not free! It is financed by taxes that every citizen of the country has to pay! It is distributed by the state to the federal states. Again, education in Germany is not free. And public transport is not perfect, not cheap either, and often too late! Buses and trains are also not always clean but very dirty, smeared and unhygienic.I would like to see how you want to reach a village in Lower Saxony by bus and train. You need a car there! You can't do that in Germany without a car. So whoever lives in Berlin is far from the reality of what is really in Germany anyway. You can't relate Berlin to all of Germany! It is as if all Germans wear lederhosen and dirndls. So are all Germans Bavarian´s ??? And the health system isn't free either! There, too, every German and foreigner who lives in Germany has to pay for it! Nothing is free in Germany, even death costs something! So again ! Everyone pays into a health insurance fund, which in turn pays for the women who brought children to the world to bridge the time until their job starts again! And now do the Africans believe this is a country where "milk and honey flows"? Thought wrong! The insurance companies will probably get the money back from the insured by paying contributions. And don't be so sure that you are safe in Germany because there are also racists here, especially in Berlin. So always be careful. Well, who doesn't like the language of poets and thinkers, scientists and inventors? Only envious people don't like the German language.

Listen ur gorgeous and all, but It seems u haven't lived here for long. But I did suffer rasism here although im european and we pay ourselves, we never took a penny from Germany. I suffered from rudeness compared to the lovely British people in London where I grew up. Also german women get really jealous if ur dressed sexy and or u look sexy and takecare of yourself, and they have this culture of going out without brushing their hair or dressing chic. And I swear to u, wherever I went, outside Germany, I get a river of flirts and sexy looks. Here they might look, but unless you are a friend of a friend they won't approach. I have a friend who lived here half her life, she told me that in the German culture men are encouraged to act like that, and any sign of an alpha male is not exactly acceptable because of feminism. Now I definitely believe that both men & women should have the same rights, salaries, etc, but I believe we are differently different, a man should be a leader, a protector, social, you know the kind of man all women including German women secretly desire but would never say so. And the woman should be feminin & enjoy her beauty, sexiness, be successful & kickass in her career, but when she's with men, she should go back to being the beautiful feminin seductive warm hearted woman that she is, not be a man. I swear I see couples here in Dortmund they walk and dress the same, you hardly know which is which.
