I also went to school in wales, Cardiff University precisely. Accommodation is cheaper but it is very cold and transportation is more expensive than London

She has not lived in any other place in the UK, so Wales is where she knows and lives. She is correct. Wales is quite affordable, places like Port Talbot, which is near Swansea, Newport, even Cardiff. My inlaws are in Wales, and if you go further than Swansea to smaller towns, the cost of living is even cheaper. I know in Port Talbot a 3 bedroom house with a big garden go for £850/pcm... The peace and quiet is second to none. Swansea is a beautiful city the seaside and scenery can be breathtaking like she said its a city that families can live comfortably. My husband always says if he had to move anywhere beside London, it would be a city in Wales. The NHS jobs are available but not necessarily carers or support workers but NHS management staff. I think people should explore Wales more. Yes, in the winter it's colder and lots of rain but you get on with it. Again, thanks Tochi for sharing.

Wales is quiet and calm as compared to England. I live in Newport, the third largest city in Wales and full of factories and care jobs. My wife and two little girls live in a 4 bedroom house with garden £900 pm. I’m very very happy, I pay £26 for internet, £115 council tax, gas and electricity £100❤

As someone who lived in Swansea for a year and wants to leave this place, I don’t advice anyone to move to Wales. There are no industries here, difficult getting jobs, most accommodations are pretty rundown. The only jobs you can get here are care jobs, hospitality and don’t get me started of the abject poverty in Wales. The weather is bad as well. If you don’t have a car the bus services are terrible. PLEASE DON’T DO IT.

Thanks Tope. Great video Tochi, we tend to overlook the magnitude of the land. Most of what we hear is inside Londer or outside London. Ehm Scotland is too cold and dreary... but it is known globally for O&G, beautiful landscapes and rich history. Same attitude Nigerians exhibit when tons troop into Lagos daily when there are more economical cities to live in...

It's is not about cheaper, it is the process to get it( accomodations). Tell if you want to get, the process also because saying cheap and the process is like a camel passing the eyes of needle, is frustrating. I don't know how Wales is, but England, God have mercy. I think the problem in wales is educational system for your kids. It’s quite cold and calm. Hard to get accommodation for family persons. Hard to get jobs. We spend 500-600pounds for feeding family of 4. Africa market dy shop our money. Though buying from Tesco. I am in carmarthen….. Abeg she can manage ooo. We spend alot ooo. 2bedroom 850pounds

From what your guest has said cost of living in Wales is way cheaper especially accommodation. I have a friend who is on vacation at the moment with her 2 kids grown up, one is 23 female and the other is 25 so that a family of 3. They rented an air bnb for £1,700 per month its a one bedroom flat so the mum and daughter sleeps in the room while the son sleeps on the coach in the living room. So imagine they have come to stay they would obviously need a big space if a one bed is £1,700 how much will 2/3/4 cost that is in London. In terms of living in Wales I believe its ideal for families especially a good ;place to raise kids , but for single na loneliness go kill am. I live in London with my 25 year old son and as close as we are I still find London very boring and lonely especially now that he's grown and does his own thing. Anothe thing is the weather in Wales. However, the main the main is, are their job opportunities and even if there is the rate of pay will definitely be lower than London, you get more due to London weighting. Long and short my conclusion is its ok for family people and introverts.

Well the whole thing is not black and white. I stayed in Wales specifically this Swansea for two years. I have also stayed one year in Hertfordshire and then now Birmingham. Birmingham is actually way cheaper than Swansea. When it comes to Wales Swansea and Cardiff is not cheap. Mostly 2 bed flat in Swansea is £650-700 and 3 bed flat is from £850. Accommodation is not also easy to get. The flat I am paying £650 in Birmingham is bliss. Food is also very cheap in Birmingham. But I love Swansea because I personally love side countries. Job opportunities is not that much in Swansea. Their is actually a whole lots. Their is a side houses is cheap in Swansea, it is called mount pleasant. You go get cheap house but you go climb mountain tire and you would prefer you pay higher and not climb this those mountains. Also NHS Wales are not also open to taking international people that much.
