Are the predecessors of nowadays Welsh people. The lines of the song sum up pretty much the spirit of resistence of Welsh people. I mean "we are still here" and "we'll be here untill judgemnte day" is definitely something to look up to. The Welsh were there when the Romans came and left, when the Angle Saxons invaded, when the norsemen invaded, when the normans invaded... And you are still here

I'm from India now resides in Qatar and when I heard about this song I Googled it and I was totally in awe for the song and the way the whole of Wales was singing I literally had tears in my eyes especially when I saw Gareth Bale n Aaron Ramsey (my sons name is also Aaron) singing.... Scotland had Geography AND the fact that the Welsh bankrupted English King's with all the castles they were forced to build in Wales, so they had no money for a concerted campaign in Scotland for many years. I didnt know that. Our welsh people in Patagonia celebrated for weeks. As a twist of fate Wales and the celtic footballers have the chance to knock out England for the WC, and If Wales does it sensible football they have a good chance of reaching out at least quarter finals. One thing is for certain Argentina will be rooting for Wales in the WC as we diid for the irish too. Knowing that a lot of welsh descendents fought for Argentina in the Malvinas war makes it even prouder from the welsh. Our military Junta thought at the time that they could outfox England and NATO by doing a smartie move tap in the island and reclaim sovereign since there was an international law about it that to reclaim a land you must step a foot there. They risked the lives of youth from argentinian teenagers nationwide with this# faux pas#. They didn't even care as with the military's in most countries I know they come from the richest upper class elitists sides of west society. They couldn't care less. This song is so moving. Wales amongst others, but a majority contributor, built London and enabled the industrial cities. Men and boys traded their health and lives to fuel furnaces to build the Capital and then were abandoned by the lady in charge of the City they built. It is an anthem and I'd love to see this rendition alongside the national anthem at some point in Qatar. To qualify this comment, this song made a relatively recent resurgence. This is actually what the song was originally about.
