@fountainofyouth5 I know this post and comments are over three years old but you really SHOULD NOT look thru the windshield when riding a motorcycle "if" possible it is a very bad habit and the reason is quiet simple. Unlike automobiles your MC does not have wipers so those bugs, dirt etc etc can built up and obstruct your view and/or because of the build up make you either see something in the road that isn't there OR miss something that is. IF The same hits your faceshield you will know it and perhaps can even remove it with your hands. A motorcycle's windshield is literally a "shield" from wind only and should be treated as such. If you are a rider you know things on motorcycles happen much quicker than in cars and the proper reaction to sudden incidents means everything.I realize because of different rider heights and even sitiations you may not have much choice hence the "if" at the beginning of this diatribe. Happy safe riding everyone!

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed being along for the ride - the scenery, the bike and the commentary - outstanding! What an amazing machine - so relaxed and effortless with that torquey flat six purring along whilst the DCT just slots the gears as needed imperceptibly. Magnificent. Thank you kindly, friend, on myriad levels. You just transported me from a cold wet miserable day in the Midlands to beautiful places with a charming narration and the wonderful weather that I had completely forgotten about. That machine is simply divine to watch and listen to; I can only imagine it must be sublime to drive. Beyond my scope, so I appreciate opportunity to see such a lovely machine plying its skills so gracefully.....maybe not so on every bend 😉! But gracefully overall!! Your assessment of the impact of a pillion is surely flawed.....with the waif of a figure your young wife graced the rear of that bike with, I'm sure she could pillion on my mountain bike with barely any effect! You are a sly old dog.........I think a future special edition with Mrs F doing a fashion show of biking gear would be a surefire winner. I'd switch Noraly off to watch that one ☺. That was an a absolute hoot to watch, friend, thank you. Very much looking forward to the next installment and escape from autumn hum-drummery. White vans aren’t the problem; they’re out there doing a job. The problem is the number of private cars. At any given time, private cars make up 73 per cent of road traffic, most on short trips. And yet drivers will blame anything bar themselves for congestion, delays and pollution. The favourite target for their ire is the humble and practical bicycle. You couldn’t make it up.

What a wonderful ride, my only experience of Wales was ripping along the M4 to deliver a package from Covent Garden to Bridgend back in my despatch riding days during the mid 80's. The roads on your trip are to die for.

Yes, please don’t judge Wales by the M4!

A few months ago I tested one and loved it, fantastic engine and gearbox (DCT) I was almost changing my 2010 BMW RT 1200 (180.000kms) but the price and maintenance costs made my stay with de RT.

A lot of motorcycle manufacturers aimed for the ride and smoothness of the Honda Goldwing. Indian, Harley Davidson, BMW. Yamaha have all started to fully counter balance and time their line for that Cadillac smooth refined ride and feel. The highway standard has been the Goldwing for some time now with no challengers until recently. The Honda Goldwing with all its bells and whistles out the gate also made other manufacturers step up their game in many areas such as full liquid cooling, easy single hole oil fill filling and draining.

I'm from around the Evesham area. It's a really _beautiful_ part of England. I left there for London when I was 21, now I regret that decision immensely. I didn't appreciate just how beautiful the area was.. Until I'd left. On my commute in London on my NC700 DCT I often see a chap on a 2012 Goldwing and he filters like a good un' he just throws it around. What impresses me is the way it pulls away at the lights, he leaves everything in his (envious) wake. If I had 30K spare I'd love a 2018 Goldwing.

Yes they are much more agile than you'd imagine...and that engine....!!

Another great vid ...... I think the GS is the Range Rover & the Goldwing is the Rolls Royce Phantom of the biking world. We need to start saving the pennies & a lot of them. It's almost the perfect bike for our needs, just wish the panniers were a little bigger.

Good stuff Flyers! What an amazing machine. You're right about that V8 rumble. Fabulous. And no visibility probs filming thru the screen. You inspired me to start looking at good 2nd hand Goldwings here in France!!

Great ride with nice roads and scenery. Beautiful weather and looks like you both had a good time. More reviews of two up on other tourers please. Always enjoyed visiting Wales before moving down under. The problem with automatic bikes is low rpm even downhill so no engine braking in corners. It looks like it took you by surprise a few times especially with the weight of that block of flats. If you were on the Gs you would not have run wide... £30k sobs will buy you a tourer and a sports or naked bike....

I was waiting for this series... I'm never likely to own a Goldwing, but my late father in law had one and raved about it. Wales is definitely on my list for 2021, a wee trek from North of Scotland though.

As a ex-pat..now living in Perth WA, I can say there is no need for any locks here and its a shame to see how the UK has gone down hill in the last 25yrs. I do miss the county side, but not the over crowding... great vlog..

I'm lucky enough to live in Wales, so I frequent the roads around Builth, Brecon and Llandovery ALOT!! I can highly recommend a visit to The Owl's Nest Tea Room and diner (incase you've not been there), just on the edge of Llandovery. Excellent place, great food, the owner, Ian, is a really great bloke and it's always busy with bikes of all shapes and sizes. Looking forward to the rest of the trip! Grumps.
