This was actually a cover of the classic song by the Australian band Air Supply who were very popular in the Philippines during the 80s due to their multiple hit ballads. Lead singer Russell Hitchcock pretty much had the same status of worship among Filipino fans as Steve Perry of Journey in terms of voice and range. KZ also did a cover of another Air Supply classic "Two Less Lonely People" on the Wish Bus a couple of years back. If you can find it, try watching Bugoy's cover of Cindy Lauper's hit "True Colors" on the wish bus years ago. I feel it doesn't get as much love as it should, it is one of the best covers I've heard that totally transforms the classic song into something more intimate.

Seriously, Bugoy Drilon deserves more attention for performances other than the "One Day" video. He's not just reggae and RnB..please, please react to his version of the Filipino ballad "Mula sa Puso" on the Wish Bus..I personally think it's his best. also "Kailangan Kita" ..

I love that song of BUGOY. Bugoy is one of the TV talent champ once iin Philippines. He is known for emotionall love songs. FILIPINOS are the FINEST singers in the FAR EAST. Bugoy's versatility is amazing: he does excellent reggae, soul, R&B, and ballad without losing his very identifiable raspy tone. If I may suggest podcasts you might want to do in the future (since you already did rap and indie bands): 1) CHILD TALENTS (the Philippines has tons of these and quite a few have had international recognition like the TNT Boys and some winners and contestants in the VOICE PH, Asias Got Talent, VOICE UK, and other reality singing shows in Europe and Australia. You can go back to as far a 10 years ago to see how these talented Filipino kids performed); 2) SIBLING TALENTS (two of the most recognizable ones are the the 4th IMPACT and REO Brothers - btw Ben & Ben could be included in this category); 3) BROADWAY MUSICAL TALENTS (Lea Salonga, Rachel Ann Go, Eva Noblezada, Jon Briones, to name a few); 4) ROCK BAND VOCALISTS (Arnel Pineda, Bamboo, Ely Buendia, etc.); 5) Cruise Ship/5-Star Hotel Music Lounge/Las Vegas Acts like H2O band, Lani Misalucha, etc.; and 6) MALE BALLADEERS (Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, EriK Santos, Christian Bautista, to name a few). At this point, it must be obvious to you that the Philippines doesn't only have outstanding individual singing talents, but also a deep reserve of talented individuals that all need to be heard and seen. This list of podcast subjects does not even include all possible groups because those knowledgeable about Philippine music could easily identify a rich list of Female Balladeers, Choral Groups (our choral groups have been wining grand prix in competitions especially in Europe where this genre still attract) wide audiences), and novelty/country/folk singers. Idk know if by doing this you can increase your viewership and subscription; however, what absolutely know is that you will greatly help in promoting Filipino talents. And with that, the whole Filipino nation will be eternally grateful.

He was a 1st runner up in Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. He was a farmer and janitor. He used the handle of his mop as his mic. He was so grateful that people are listening to his music now,before his listeners were carabao and grass in the field. He had no formal training,that's why the coaches were amazed where he learned those style of singing.He said he just listens to the music.His friend just heard him singing while cleaning and said he has a talent and push him to join the singing contest .

Yup, Philippines and Latin America are quite deeply connected, although the Spanish did not teach us the language, and compulsary Spanish learning in school was phased out in the 80's, the culture is still heavily influenced by our colonial past. This is why we can relate with each other at a very deep level, everything will have a sense of familiarity, even the climates are similar, the balance of food tastes are more akin to Latin American cuisine than to Asian, we have a penchant for telenovelas, and--quite sadly, we even share some features in our socio-political reality.
