These Babymonster girls were doing outstanding performance with 'Like That' song. And thank to you both to speak how important of the ground vocal is which usually be overlooked. Pharita's base vocal helped Ahyeon powerful sweet voice more dominant for audiences, and their harmonies were so nice arranged. There was a glimpse at the moment Pharita made excitement to many fans with her speedy rap of Asa's part, too. These are two of my favorite voices in babymonster, and I've also noticed that Pharita usually gets certain types of parts to sing. And I have seen that in the behind-the-scenes videos that are uploaded to KZbin, Rami and Pharita are always rehearsing back vocals and harmonizing, I don't know if because of their type of voice, their tone or because they are good at it but they do that a lot. Especially Rami, in some songs throughout the entire song she never stops because of all the ad-libs she has to do that sometimes she even has to stop dancing or lower the intensity to be able to do them all. And their voices are very interesting, since Ahyeon, Rami and Pharita are the three members who sing the highest, but Rami and Pharita also control the low notes very well and I love how their voices sound with those tones.

Oh ahyeon and rami are the main ones doing all the harmonizing and adlibs for all the songs. But yes, those three have such powerful vocals and each has a unique tone so I love that their songs are produced in a way that highlights all the power and different tones. Yeah, we can hear some of the back-processing, members do a lot harmonizing and ad-lib themself both live and recording only. But what we saw are only Ahyeon and Rami taking live parts. I heard more of them do so in backing track like Pharita distinctly harmonizing in “Batter Up” and more but Rora and Chiquita seem harder for me to recognizing, my bad. I suppose Ahyeon and Rami can do the harmonizing and ad-lib like.. Automatically. Even the song they may not have heard before, it’s the technique term and you need to have accurate ears and accurate notes in your head. Few number of idols can and BM has more than one girl can do that… In 1st Full Album “Love Maybe” I personally sure that’s Pharita had her harmony after Rora once. Let’s see. As a OT7 Stan so far, I love to see them grow stronger together. YG seems to know their babies better than us. Just wait and see.

Honestly it's a general kpop fans mindset. For them belting is everything. If you hit high notes you are the best. I remember how in the past pharita used to get lots of praises cuz she also was given high notes earlier. When their senior commented on Ahyoen' part, that she's worried whether Ahyoen would put down her ambition or not for group mission and Ahyoen killed it. Her harmonization raised Pharita's main vocal sounded more breathtaking. That's why team A got a lot of praise for being a good team. Thats what people were saying was that ayheon is voice is very intense and yg is trying so hard to push her to a standard that her voice hasnt really developed to yet she can really sing but people like pharita and chiquita add a feel of flow it backs up the emptiness of a smooth song because ayheon is voice is full but does not capture the melodies that interact and i think with songs like this and ballads pharita is a very good person to use to capture those hidden vocals she changes the vibe from intense to smooth which is very pleasing to the ear not to much but not to little ayheon has a wide range but she hasnt mastered the art of volume technique and projection which people talk about alot but she is one of the top singers in 5th gen her belting is insane

Interesting perspective. Everyone I introduced to baby monster stopped listening because they think all their voices are boring except for ahyeon :( so I guess it’s all about preference since lots of people I introduced to k pop prefer strong, powerful, can fill an arena type of voice. I don’t think YG is trying to push her in any way other than a way to grow. I mean, stars are ambitious and challenge themselves and always seek growth, so everyone should be improving over time. But I think she is the leading 5th gen female because majority of people love her voice already just as it is. So the love for these girls will only grow as they get better and better.

@ the thing is people have a picture painted of what a good singer looks like to them it’s someone who belts who hits high notes who riffs effortlessly but as a singer who has sang in choirs and individual you never know how different it sounds until to leave take out all vocals expect soprano if ayheon sang this song alone it would have a powerful vocal heavy song but Pharita adds smoothness that’s why people like rami a lot because she has a mixture of ayheon and pharita is technique and I do agree it’s for her to grow we as observant fans and singers know but someone people thing it’s just too much sometimes her voice reaches a level of volume that becomes to much for a song or performance

@@Francheska291 nobody said she can only do belting what we said was she has a full voice so people like pharita balance her out well she is a amazing singer-one of the top this generation she can definitely do adlibs but yg used pharita to do majority of the hidden vocals to create smoothness rather than power and nobody said her voice lacks emotion you are choosing to read your own things I just was explaining the view Efra and waleska had in a singers point of view and someone who sings in a choir I know about group voice dynamics
