Thanks for your reaction. That was such an iconic moment. This song was originally in Tamil later dubbed into Hindi. Music composed by the legendary music composer Ilayaraja. Yesudas sung this song. The impact of this movie on human emotions is so strong that it left we feeling as though I was punched in the gut, dragged through the muck and left to lose my breath 1 slow exhale, inhale at a time. They switched from Hindi to Tamil in between the song, Shreya is not a Tamil speaker and she was amazing in that part too. Yesudas is a Roman Catholic who has been the best devotional singer even for Hindu Gods in Kerala. For instance he has performed numerous concerts outside Guruvayur Temple but never entered it but his songs invoke a feeling of deep devotion to the listeners

I know you guys have been so much more familiar to Shreya and Arijith (and Bollywood) and hence more fascinated by them (and nothing against their brilliance) but this is a celebration of 50yrs of signing career of KJYesudas a legend beyond most of the male singers anywhere in the world, so it would have been nice if you had given him some notice too 😂...Of course, almost no one from Kerala go through a day(even now) without hearing at least one KJ Yesudas song but more than that he had given such amazing songs in Tamil, Telugu and even in Hindi(where he had some issues because of the pronunciation of language)...You should really check out some more of his work...

After the song ended Shreya touched KJ's feet - at 7:15 - and KJ blessed her. This is how in I greet my teachers and my elders when I meet them. My nephews and younger cousins also greet me like this. This greeting in usually reserved for special occasions (meeting after a long gap, greeting on festivals and significant family gatherings) - this was a certainly a special occasions. Just as a clarification, Indian culture is not homogeneous so in some cultures and in some families touching feet is not common. In some cultures and some families, girls are exempt from this (they are not obligated to touch feet of elder men), boys, however are not exempt.
