This is just my opinion. You could say that Ai Ai is an average singer. But, she has great hearing when it comes to singing talent, that's why despite her "average" singing abilities, she was a judge of The Clash. She can hear great talent. She was just really focused on comedy the most because she is called "Queen of Comedy" in the Philippines

Tremendously enjoyed watching Ai Ai delas Alas performed in many corporate shows, like leading big companies for their special events like Big Product or Service Launches or company anniversaries, held in big hotel ballrooms. They usually invite Ai Ai to perform--dance or song numbers, but doing comics as well. Even the top company honchos like CEOs, top executives (the Ayalas, Philippines' high society personalities, the elites) and the whole audience were laughing out loud due to her hilarious acts/skits. That performance of Total Eclipse of the Heart came after this performance that I will recommend. Aiai sang What Kind Of Fool Am I in its first parts but the climax from " What Kind of Lips are these" up to "I Am" was sung by Regine who was at the backstage that time and Aiai just lip-synced. Yes, it's pronounced as "eye-eye". Since the intention was to react to a singer, Ai Ai wasn't the right choice. I don't know who suggested her. She CAN carry a tune, but she's not a real singer caliber. Though I think that with more training, she could really do rock. For entertainment value, I guess this is okay. She could be funny especially when she was younger. People went to her concerts. Her best comedy movie was TANGING INA. It was full of silliness, but for some reason, some parts pulled the heartstrings. I still cry at some parts whenever I get to watch it.
