They became the first girl group to win Daesang with their song Break Away. You should try listening to their new songs from their newly released album. They are wonderful.♥

Both companies were responsible for making the group and not just yg decided to collaborate with mboat to create a diva project group which made big mama. Actually big mama is considered more as a yg artists and not an mboat artists just like gummy and wheesung. Yg had more control over big mama, from producing their music,promoting them, to concert ventures and many more.

Love Big Mamma and their four distinct voices that harmonize so well. Was so impressed with your reaction video. Nothing in the title or your video's introduction speaks to your background in music but it was quite obvious you know what you are talking about. I've now watched several Big Mama reaction videos and your video was one of the top-two I've watched. Julia Nilon was the other and I learned a ton of different things from both videos. Would not place one above the other. Just two superb videos by people who bring a ton of perspective on four immensely talented singers. Very, very well done.

for context, Big Mama were a group that debuted in a YG sublabel back in 2003. because they didn't have your classic idol looks, they were all doing back up singing etc but YG took a chance on them and said they should just challenge the industry with their voices alone, even their contract stipulated they cannot have plastic surgery! they officially disbanded somewhere around 2010 and all 4 eventually became professors of vocal music in Korea's various unis

One of the reason why the newer generation doesn't appeal to me is because the current trend for Kpop female vocalist are on the brighter, thinner side popularized by BoA and IU. I think the group name Big Mama comes from the idea that they're not skinny as the "idol Korean female group". They are all bigger in size than the usual female artists in Korea. Big Mama is amazing!!!!
